La Dolce acted as our first Vietnam stop. We spent a couple of days checking out the old quarter and left our luggage there twice and backpacked (train) to Sa Pa and then to Halong Bay.The staff were very helpful and aided us in the purchase of local SIM and top-up which lasted most of our trip at a very reasonable outlay.
Directly across the road was a three storey pub ome restaurant which had a very good selection (spag bol was great), the Pho was excellent and so were the fries. The young student waitress was excellent.
Brkky was included for the 5=6 days we spent there and all food was good.
Of special note was an early bookin (arranged by Harveyworld Travel) which was a real boon since we arrived back from SaPa at a ridiculously early hour.

Room Tip: Get an early checkin if you are returning from SaPa etc

This hotel is a quiet oasis in the bustling and noisy old part of Hanoi and is within walking distance (if you dare brave the traffic) of many of the main tourist attractions and shopping area, and some inexpensive little restaurants. There are a couple of laundries nearby too.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a bit dark. The windows all open onto a light well; not so good for light, but great at keeping out traffic noise.

The staff are most helpful and friendly. I would recommend La Dole Vita to anyone who doesn't want to pay. The earth for accommodation but is looking for value for money.

Room Tip: The higher up, the lighter the rooms will be.e

La Dolce Vita is definitely a 3* standard. Located in the Old Quarter. Basic facilities. Average size rooms. The first thing I noticed is that there was no A/C throughout the corridoors just in the rooms themselves as it was very hot in the foyer area. Middle of the range hotel, but very clean and comfortable. FREE WIFI!

For the pricing I think it is acceptable, I do think younger guests would like this hotel due to its good location.

The lead in room types do not have any natural light – not ideal for people who feel Claustrophobic. BUT the higher rooms are fantastic!!!

I would recommend this property to someone travelling on a smaller budget - it really is a good hotel just dont expect a 5* standard. The service is great!!!!!

We stayed her for 2 nights as part of a cruise package with Emeraude Cruises. The hotel and rooms are beautifully appointed with friendly and helpful front desk staff. The hotel’s central location right smack in the middle of the bustling Old Quarter meant that we were just a short walk away from restaurants, shopping, sights as well as the lovely Hoan Kiem Lake. Our only negative feedback was that on the first day, a set breakfast was served (presumably because there were very few guests in residence) instead of a buffet breakfast, and ordering what we wanted was a little bit of a challenge due to the language barrier. To remedy this, the hotel should have provided guests with a written menu so that we’re able to pick and choose what we want. The buffet breakfast that was served a few days later however was perfect, good selection of local and Western staples, fruit, cereals and excellent coffee. Also note that the luggage storage serve that they offer is no more than your bags left in a corner of the lobby covered by a net 

Located in the centre of the old quarter. Just 5 minutes walk to Lake Hoan Kien. Restaurents and coffee houses are all around. Friendly staff ever willing to assist. The superior room with attached bathroom was clean and comfortable enough. The size of the room was more than sufficient to air/dry my wet/sweaty clothes after 3 rounds of golf. A large flat screen tv and good wifi signal can tempt you to stay in the room indefinitely. Fairly good breakfast spread with western and local delicacies. It's buffet style with egg and noodle stations respectively. You can't ask more from a 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: It will be quite noisy if you are in front room.
