Great location. Food, tour and travel agencies in the hotel. Hotel is very clean. rooms are cleaned everyday. new sheets daily. They have cable TV and A/C, free internet terminals in the lobby. Free WiFi as well. Breakfast is included. It's basic fare like eggs and bread, jam, butter and bread, ham sandwich, or noodle soup, etc. Staff are exceptional helpful. They got a cell for us to use, booked all our tours. We happy with our time in this hotel. High recommend" .

Extremely disappointed and would not recommend to others. I think that Tommy, the Manager, would be interested to hear how one of his employees tried to tell us that the room we were being allocated was needed for another group of family members. This was despite having booked our accommodation several weeks in advance. After making ourselves perfectly clear, i.e. we would not accept this story, we were allocated our original room. Finally, on the eve of checking out of the hotel, the same employee informed us that their credit card machine was not working and that they would require the balance in cash. The employee then calculated and recalculated the due amount three times and wrote down the amount owed. Fortunately, we had sufficient cash to pay the bill however on returning to see the employee, he then told us he had made a mistake and that his calculator could not have been working properly. I am afraid to say that this comment was the straw that broke the camel's back and we refused to pay any extra. This sort of service leaves a nasty taste in one's mouth.

Its with great regret we read that your stay was not to your expectations in Amazing hotel. We were very concerned regarding your comments. The hotel arranged a transfer for us from the airport which is nice when you've just arrived in the country, however when we got to the hotel we were given a room without a window which disappointed us. They apologised and told that there would be another room available the next night to move to. As it turned out we went on a trip to Halong Bay the next day but then when we returned we were told that the hotel was full and that they would book us into a neighbouring hotel instead. We were initially very annoyed because we had specifically booked this hotel, however when we were moved to the Hanoi View Hotel (run by the same people and just around the corner) we were pleased to find that it was actually very nice.

So we actually only spent one night at the Hoang Thanh which was ok, the room despite no windows was clean and pleasant enough and the breakfast was ok. There was free internet in the reception and the staff were friendly. However, we would recommend their neighbouring hotel the Hanoi View instead as this had nicer rooms, nicer breakfast, in room internet and friendly staff.

We, too, went to this place based on the good Tripadvisor reviews, and although we weren't disappointed at all, it's probably wise to tune down expectations a little bit. The place looks new, it's very clean and rooms are impeccable, albeit on the smaller side. We were first given a room without windows which I don't think is ok when you pay 45 USD a night in Vietnam, but luckily there was a higher floored twin available with some kind of window and view. Location is excellent but breakfast very basic. Staff tries to be nice, but it seemed their attitude changed when they understood we wouldn't be buying our Ha Long Bay tour from them (don't think they overpriced though; their catalogues are the real ones, just tours in a higher price range). Ok, 45 bucks isn't much for a nice hotel room, but in Hanoi there must surely be better value somewhere else.

After arriving from Hue on a delayed flight we got to the hotel with our 4 year old son asleep at 11pm. I arranged a car pick up from the airport through the hotel. This all went fine. When we arrived at the hotel the guy at reception asked if we had a reservation. I had emailed tommy the manager 5 times. I had booked the family room for $45 us. We were taken to a very tastefully decorated room butit was the size of a shoe box and had 2 single beds. I said I had booked the family room with a single and double bed so we were taken to another shoe box with 2 single beds pushed together. Aparently the family room was not available. We ended up being given the 2 rooms for the price of one at $35. We were going to Sapa the next night and then due to stay for 4 nights upon our return. We have checked out and are now in the viet anh hotel. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was average and they have computers in the lobby. The hotel is fine butI'm not sure about the noise as I was so tired I didn't hear anything. We left as I was really angry that they didn't know we had a booking when they had sent a ar and the roomwas a big stuff up. So as far as I am concerned they are rubbish at service and get no more of our money.
