Hanoi Charming Hotel
Ranked #124 of 599 Hotels in Hanoi
Reviewed September 15, 2013

We have been in Hanoi for a week and our time at Charming hotel has been so wonderful. Their breakfast is great, rooms are clean and spacious (alas no window in some rooms), and best part is the staff who treat you like family.

The front receptionist (Lan) has been invaluable to our great time in Halong Bay and Hanoi. She is always there to help with recommendations where to eat, how much you should be paying, and actually calling places to make sure they are open and have food we are looking for. She actually called our Ha Long bay company to get us a discount after they quoted us a wrong time for the cruise!

Their location is ideal as it is in a neighborhood alley which is nice as you can step into the bustle of Hanoi while sleeping in a quiet and calm hotel. Everything in the Old quarter is within 10-20 minutes away of the hotel so you can walk everywhere!

For our next visit to Vietnam we wont look any further than Charming Hotel or their sister hotels. Holiday Diamond in Hue is also another sister hotel we stayed at and absolutely loved.

Thank you Charming Hotel and especially Lan!

Room Tip: There are three types of rooms, first two levels do not have windows as they are set further back in...

We have stayed in the Hanoi Charming Hotel for 4 weeks now and we have had no problems and glad we chose to stay here.
The rooms are clean, and worth the price paid. Breakfast is good with a menu to choose from, catering for all guests. The hotel is in an ideal location for tourists and is on a 'walking street' so not too noisy.

The most valuable asset to the hotel are the staff who are very friendly, welcoming and will do their best to help and look after you during your stay.

Room Tip: There are two room rates - if you want a bigger room then pay for the upgrade, but the smaller room...

We stayed here 1 night as our hotel Charming 2 (the sister hotel for Charming) was full.
The staff were just as friendly as the friendly staff at Charming 2. The room was very clean with fast internet as a bonus. The rooms were extremely cheap and were only $27USD per night including breakfast. If you are on a budget this is the perfect place for you! We didn't get a chance to eat breakfast here as we had our breakfast at Charming 2 so I can't comment on how it is.
We stayed in one of their front rooms which had a window overlooking the houses of the Old Quarter. We could hardly hear any traffic in the middle of the night as the hotel is down a small lane way.
If you're on a budget this place is perfect to stay at.

Room Tip: The front of the hotel rooms have big windows to look out onto Hanoi.

truly welcoming and warm people, willing to help you out whatever you may need. The rooms are clean, with wifi and computer, bath accessories, warm water, mini bar without overcharching. Half of the rooms have no window (well, they do have a window but it overlooks a white wall at 15 cm distance... However they've done their best to make it look better, by hanging bamboos) but they cost less (18USD). Decent breakfast. You can leave your luggage there to go on excursion (Halong Bay, Sapa). They don't force you to go on the tours they sell. A really easy-going stay that enhances the visit to Hanoi.

Hanoi charming is located on Yen Thai Street, small and quite silent st.
I and my friends spent only half day here before catching the train to Sapa.
All staff are very friendly and lovely. They helped to provide train tickets and brought us to train station until we got on the train. And they also provided taxi for us at train station when we were back to Hanoi. We stayed in standard room without window. It is clean but feel a little bit uncomfortable because of no window. However, overall is cozy room.

Such a charming hotel.

Great little hotel in Hanoi. Increadibly helpful and friendly staff. Stayed two days and when we got back to hanoi early we went back just to see if we could leave our bags before getting the overnight train to sapa later that night. The staff gave us a room free of charge for an hour so we could shower and change. 10/10.
