Description: Halia (or ‘ginger’ in the Malay language) began in the one-hectare Ginger Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens where over 250 species of gingers with their stunning foliage and colourful flowers thrive. In 2008, the Halia was officially opened in Hanoi. This is Halia’s first overseas outlet. In keeping with The Halia’s philosophy of creating memorable experiences through food, ambience and service, The Halia Hanoi focuses on the integral purpose of dining ~ pure pleasure. With that commitment in mind, The Halia brings to Hanoians a dining experience not found anywhere else in the capital. An intimate bar greets you upon entry where you can have a tipple or two before adjourning to the main dining room. Located just beside the scenic West Lake, the wide windows provides a majestic view of the water. Tuck into hearty and comforting signatures while being tended to by our warm and friendly servers. As you end your evening at the Halia, savour a night cap in our exclusive whisky den on the upper floor.

Have given Halia 5 stars for all criteria as it is a true 5 star quality restaurant that would hold it's own anywhere in the world. Each meal is a work of art and more importantly tastes fantastic. The service is spot on and the fine touches and attention to detail makes this restaurant unique in Hanoi. Although easily the most expensive restaurant we tried in Hanoi it is still cheap comparatively speaking. My family of three paid $190 US but we treated ourselves to a three course dinner each and a couple of bottles of wine which probably made up half of the bill. Really impressed by our waitress, Viet, who was extremely attentive, friendly and incredibly professional. Her English was also very good. Viet picked up that it was my wife and my anniversary and arranged for a small complimentary personalized cake for us. My only criticism, and this is across the board for all restaurants in Vietnam, is that smoking is still allowed in parts of the restaurant and of course the smell of smoke whilst you are eating is a deterrent for many diners. Ask for a table towards the back of the second level at Halia If this concerns you. This was both my wife and my best dining experience of the many restaurants we visited during our Vietnam holiday.

We dined at Halia on the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't sure about having fine fusion food in Vietnam but once our meal started, I forgot all about my reservations and the meal was one of the best I've ever had.

We were there on Christmas eve and a special set menu was offered. I wasn't too keen on it so asked if they had an a la carte menu and they did. The 'normal' set menus had dishes I much preferred and I had a full 4 course with an incredibly yummy choc lava cake for US$36++. I was absolutely stuffed at the end of the meal.

When a restaurant has fresh ingredients, delicious food and impeccable service, it's pure heaven.

Singapore owned and run. An excellent place to eat in quiet surroundings. Food and service as you would expect from the people who run the restaurant of the same name in the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Not easy to find though, it is tucked away in the courtyard of Pacific Place but well worth the effort when you get there.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
