“Nice central city hotel”
Reviewed September 17, 2010

We stayed in this hotel for our honeymoon this year and they must have known because there was a delicious cake waiting for us on our arrival! The room was fairly large for Vietnam and we had a window, which was nice but the view wasn't great (we were on the 5th floor). The breakfast was good and varied and the room although small, always had space. The location was excellent, a 5 minute from the central lake, but right in the Old Quarter. We would stay here again, if we ever go back!

This is a great location in the centre of Hanoi. We moved to this hotel after another one was too noisy and the staff gave us a discount for a 'walk'in' request. We were given a very quiet room away from the street - which was great - but only had a window facing into the hallway. We didn't mind but for those that are claustraphobic, it could be a problem.

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellence of the Maison d'Hanoi. Its location is fabulaous (but so are 1,000 other small hotels in Hanoi), so it was the beautiful and well-maintained rooms that totally won us over. Very good service too, the receptionist helped us to call the travel agency to arrange for the delivery of our train tickets. Oh, and it was right across the street from Bhaya Cruises which allowed us to just cross over to catch the shuttle bus.

Great hotel in a great location. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The rooms are also very quiet considering your in the middle of the old quarter. I thought the lack of windows would be an issue, however, you look out onto an atrium so no big deal. The room isn't huge, but you don't travel to a place like Vietnam to spend all your time in a room. Given it's location we could walk everywhere. This was our first time in Hanoi and will definately stay at this hotel again. If you stay here make sure you go up to the roof, great view!

This small hotel, located in Hanoi's old quarter, aims to please and more often than not it is able to do exactly that. There was a small mix-up with my reservation; however, it was handled with smiles and courtesy once I brought it up. I appreciated that, because I don't like to complain. Maison d'Hanoi is an excellent value (we got a summer promotional package which included a dinner or lunch at the hotel restaurant). Try to get a room with a view of the city; there aren't many, but it is definitely worth asking.

This feels like a pretty new hotel and has been decorated to a very high standard, so you get real value for money. The staff are very attentive, the breakfasts are good and the location in excellent for exploring the city. The room we had on the first night was very nice - it had a nice balcony looking out over the local area, but the second night we were move to a std room, which had no windows. This wasn't a problem for us, since we were out exploring the city most of the time.
If you are planning a trip to Vietnam, I would recommend using LITTLE VIETNAM TOURS (www.holidaysinindochina.com). Van and her team just did a fantastic job with all our arrangements for our two week tour of this thoroughly interesting country.

we stayed here on three seperate evenings while using Hanoi as a base to go to Sapa and Ha Long Bay. the staff are fantastic and can not do enough for you. whe they discovered that we were on our honeymoon, the restaurant baked us a cake and delivered it to our room! when we returned from sapa on a very early train, the hotel staff were fantastic and allowed us to check in early. we travelled for 6 weeks and this was the hotel i was most impressed with. delicious brekkie also!
