My mother and I recently traveled to Hanoi, and really enjoyed our stay at La Maison. Our room was a fair size, but plush, and with nice a/c. (I'm not sure why the other reviewer had trouble with it), but our room was icy cold. The fruit in the room every day was also nice. Breakfast was a big highlight of our stay, and although the restaurant could have been a little bigger, the food was delicious (especially the pho). We also ate an asian set menu dinner, and although more expensive than other places, definately worth it for two exhausted people after a tour all day! The location by Hoan Kiem Lake worked well for us, and it was very centrally located.

This is not a business hotel, trying to print something out at the front desk (using the checkout computer) surrounded by tourist trying to make sense of their tour bookings is not the best way to start the day.

I stayed in suite room 801, was surprised how small it was, not too small but not what you would expect for a suite. Room was nice, bed was comfy, free internet ok, bathroom wasn’t special, lousy water saving pins and needles shower head. The AC quit at midnight.

When I checked out, I mentioned that the AC didn’t work. The response was, “at 6am?” like it happened to some other rooms…I said no, midnight. She cringed a little and said sorry. My guess is that the hotel knew it was a problem but made no attempt to fix it or come up with another solution. Hanoi this time of year is a stagnant 35 C with 90% humidity.

B-fast in the nicely decorated basement was tight but very good.

Staff was very nice / pleasent but didn't seem to have much to work with.

I’ll be staying 5 star next time.

On arrival , instead of standing at the counter to check in, I was seated on a comfortable settee and offered a refreshment. The staff brought all the documentation to me which was completed in a flash.
The staff were all exceptionally friendly and very helpful.
My bedroom was stylish and spacious. Room service was efficient.
All round a very peasant hotel. Would highly recommend it.

This is an amazing boutique hotel, very centrally located. Rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Whilst the rooms are not overly large, they are spacious enough, with everything you could possibly want in a room.

Breakfast was a joy, quite a good selection of food available.

Hotel staff very helpful, they went out of their way to make you feel welcome. One of my fellow travellers was celebrating a birthday the night we checked in and the hotel brought a cake up to her room (no charge), now that's what you call service.

Iron and Ironing board available upon request.

Free Internet access available on the reception level.

Wonderful hotel, would recommend to anybody staying in Hanoi to seek it out.

FABULOUS hotel. good location - right in the middle of all the shopping in the old quarter so everything is walking distance. new hotel with nice rooms, small but clean and comfortable with nice big plasma tv. staff were AMAZING. really looked after you and made you feel welcome. hotel wasnt too big so you really felt like a guest not a room number. im a travel agent from Christchurch nz and highly recommend. food was also nice.

We just stayed at Maison d'Hanoi over 2 periods for 3 nights in total. The rooms were spacious, even though there were 4 of us (2 adult & 2 children) moving around the room.

This hotel is in a great location. Just less than 50m from the hotel is Hang Gai and Hang Bong, the shopping street. It is also close to the Hoan Kiem lake.

There are 50+ channels which kept my kids well occupied whenever we stayed in the room. The room is nicely decorated, just like what you see on their website and very comfortable. The toilet is nicely done up and clean. The hotel provides free internet access in the room and also has 2 computers in the lobby area for hotel guest to us. The lobby is spacious and cooling, hence, a breeze whenever you step in from the hot and busy street of Hanoi.

Compared to my earlier stay at another hotel last year in Hanoi, the staff over at Maison d'Hanoi is extremely friendly and helpful. They are sensitive to our needs and tried their best to meet our needs whenever they can. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I return to Hanoi.
