Me and my friends stayed in the Serenity hotel for a few days. It is a nice and clean hotel with pretty spacious rooms for a good price. What made the hotel that good is the staff. They were very helpfull!! Because of the weather we couldn't do the halong bay trip the first days. The staff helped us changing our flight so we could still do the halong bay tour. We also did a one day tour to tam coc.  Both tours were very nice. The free breakfast was good too. You can choose from a cart what you want. We stayed at the sixt flour and without a elevator it's a long climb, but is was a good exercise.
I would definitaly stay here again.  Keep up the good work!

The hotel is a place to recommend for everybody. The staff is very friendly and helpful (they can even find you a good place to stay in other cities not mentioned in the Lonely Planet guidebook), welcoming you with a smile everytime. Though we stayed there just few night they even offered free room for us to take shower before travelling further. Rooms spacious and clean, we have had only some minor problems with water pressure when taking shower:) All the rooms are accessible via stairs only and you may get a room even on the fifth floor. I strongly recoomend this place for a nice stay in the capital of Vietnam!

i ended up staying like a month at serenity and they are just the best. most rooms i think have a desk and PC which is great. but it's mostly the staff. they are super friendly and funny and so accommodating. great location and great value which is why I stayed for so long.

Room Tip: there are some big awesome rooms for a little more than the smaller ones. ask to have a look at a few so you get an idea.

We stayed 2 nights in Hanoi Serenity Hotel during our Vietnam trip, it was an excellent choice. The rooms are clean and spacious, hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, although it may first appear as a bit pushy when offering trips.

We also booked the Halong Bay trip via hotel, which was of great value. Even though we checked out, we could still leave our luggage in the hotel for 2 days and then even take the shower before moving on.

A minor drawback is that the staircase is quite steep and high (like many building in Vietnam) and there is no lift, so be prepared to climb up 5 or 6 floors.

Hotels in Hanoi are generally cheap, even those in the old quarters. This hotel is generally clean and the reception was okay. We stayed in a few hotels in Hanoi. Although Hanoi serenity is clean, all the other hotels we stayed are also as clean or if not better. And the others come with newer furnishing as they were newer than this hotel.

As this was the first hotel we stayed when we arrived in Hanoi, we decided to book a Halong Bay tour from this hotel. We had done our research prior the trip and had requested a specific boat however the reception kept recommended us the boat which they had affliction with which did not make us feel very comfortable.
