Good basic hotel with a perfect location - a quiet street in the middle of the old city. The breakfast has a good selection of fruit, bread and yogurt and the included eggs or noodle soup is made on request.
The staff have excellent English language skills and are very helpful in any way.

And for winter travellers: Enjoy the heater in the room :o)

I have been to Ha Noi at least 30 times beginning back in 1980 and have stayed at various hotels - from 5 star hotels to Government operated hotels. I decided to try the Golden Sunrise Hotel because of previous reviews on TA.

I am very happy that my wife and I selected this hotel. Firstly, it is an excellent location in the old quarter and getting around was very easy. Secondly, the staff and management of the hotel were excellent. We arranged to be met by the hotel staff upon arrival at the airport and the man was waiting as we exited the arrival area. He was a very good driver and managed the very bad traffic with ease.

The manager, a lady by the name of "Jenny", was extremely helpful in providing advice and information. In fact, upon arrival she presented my wife and I with a very nice tasting chocolate cake!

Although the breakfast selection is rather limited it was plentiful and of good quality. In addition, and as the hotel is not a 5 star hotel the rooms were clean and large with a free laptop to use during our stay.

We stayed several nights before we left some of our luggage and went down to Halong Bay for 3 nights and returned to this hotel once again. This time when we arrived our checked bags were awaiting us and we were were provided with a plate of tasty bakery sweets and check in was a breeze.

The manager arrange transport for us to the airport for an early departure and everything went fine. We were provided with a "breakfast" bag on leaving the hotel as our flight was very early.

Now the big question is: "Would we stay at this hotel again and would we recommend it to others. The answer is simple - YES! It was a nice find and my wife and I have not a single problem with this hotel.

I chose this hotel from Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always doing everything they can to help you!!
This little hotel is in a perfect location in the Old Quarter close to many restaurants / bars and everything is within walking distance.
The room was good with comfortable bed, sufficient bath room
Breakfast is excellent especially for fruit lovers / continental breakfast (cooked also available).
Absolutely No complaints...I would recommend this place to my friends..

The location is not bad, right in the center. However, you can't feel relaxed in the hotel cuz there are no security cameras either in lobby or the lift.

Not a bad hotel; good location, small basic breakfast, very helpful manager, TV in room and also a laptop computer which unfortunately could not connect to the free wi-fi.
small en-suite.
A pleasant enough place which was near to Hoam Kiem Lake.A bit overpriced for what it was.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the main street as some of the other rooms have no view as the window...

This local 2 stars hotel is just less than 5 minutes walk from Hoan Kiem Lake which is the more serene part of the chaotic city. It is located at the quieter end of old town which is bustling with noise and transports of all sort.

There are few chic restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops along the same lane.

The deluxe room with balcony I stayed offered partial lake view on the 8th floor but there was noise from the top floor restaurant during breakfast period. There is free wi fi on my floor and even an IBM laptop for guest's use.

Service is the best feature of the hotel with every very smiley and polite. Breakfast has limited choice and some do not look appetizing.

This hotel is a great value for money with great location and service, I will stay here again if I return to Hanoi.

Stayed at Golden Sunrise Hotel for 2 nights last week and absolutely love it! Conveniently located just within few steps to Sword Lake as well as to the heart of Old Quarter. The breakfast was enough good to fulfill my stomach. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and warm as in my home. They provided an in-room laptop for using freely. The first and only hotel did that in Vietnam I've seen so far. The staff was so professional, friendly and helpful.
Certainly in love with this hotel and will be back in my next trip to Hanoi.

Room Tip: Contact directly to hotel's manager and tell what you want!
