Cà Phê Vê Lô is on the outskirts of Hanoi, only a taxi ride away and a fabulous day out on bicycles combined with terrific food and relaxing in hammocks.
Have just moved to Hanoi and read a couple of lines about this place in a tourist mag so some friends and I decided to give it a go and it's going on our "must do" list.
We arrived to drinks and a relax in the Cà Phê's lovely garden and at our leisure then headed off with Proprietor Vincent on what was a couple of hours of gentle cycling through market gardens, fruit orchards and villages on the outskirts of Hanoi. You even see the roses growing that will be sold on Hanoi streets in the coming days. There are refreshment stops along the way in little local joints full of atmosphere and plenty of local appeal.
This rural retreat ends back at the Cà Phê with a delicious lunch, a few beers and a snooze in the hammocks temptingly hanging between the trees in the garden. It took some effort to prize ourselves out of there... It's fantastic value for a fabulous way to spend a day and get a different perspective of life in Hanoi.
Check out their website and book yourself a day in the country! I highly recommend it!
