Was recommended this restaurant by many different people. The food is very good in terms of taste and there is an awful lot of it. Of hygiene bothers you then it's best not to look too closely but I have eaten in a lot worse and lived!
The disappointment is the price and you get the distinct feeling of being ripped off. The food is good but not that good. There is a lot more choice, similar or better food round the corner at half the price.

We had bun cha for lunch today, overall great food and great rice noodle. I saw local lady paid 50,000vnd, and a bit over charge for 2 portion of bun cha + 1 coke. We paid 195,000 vnd. A bit pricey for street food .

Yes it was 50,000vnd each but when you're white in vietnam expect to pay white-people tax, this bun cha was delicious nonetheless. Scummy hot spring rolls, delicious pork chops and patties, plenty of fresh green and great sticky noodles which fall apart at the touch of broth. Super hot chillies, lime and soy sauce appear at the table, and a little politeness and thanking the chef goes a long way. Cleanliness wasn't amazing and I questioned what the salad was washed in, but in the busy centre of Vietnam this is a gem.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't the best Bun Cha in Hanoi, but its good enough to become my own local place to eat lunch. Sure its in the touristic area so as you expect it is often populated by international clientele and Vietnamese alike. Its not the cleanest, but its OK. For foreigners it can be a bit challenging as the staff and owners do not speak any English or other languages. They of course then try in on a little by bringing you the works including spring rolls if you do not make it clear all you want is noodles and 'soup'. I have on occasions witnessed the odd tourist walk away with the feeling they have been over charged, but frankly, I think is more to do with a lack of understanding than anything else. I have never been overcharged. Do not be frightened of telling them what you want and all will be OK. Enjoy
