Legend Legacy is not great. Very little crew interaction other than trying to sell us overpriced drinks. Deck chairs were all pushed in a corner and no attempt at setting up a "lounging" area on the deck. No one showed up for the 6:30AM Tai Chi. On top of that after I got home I found they have overcharged me about $10. In addition, I paid a little extra for the direct bus home which they totally ignored and put us on the standard bus which stops at the Pearl Farm for an additional 45 minutes. Really wished I hadn't gone with them. This boat is not what is pictured.

2 day 1 night trip.

We arrived at the Harbour and it was chaotic although our guide for the trip found us and made sure we were in the correct area and informed us to what was going on.

The boat has definitely aged more so than what is in the pictures in the brochure. Nevertheless it was clean and comfortable (the bed was quite hard if I’m being really critical) nice hot shower and a clean bathroom.

The food was probably the best part for us, it was all freshly cooked, delicious and lots of it.

The staff are all really friendly and helpful.

It is incredible sailing around Halong Bay and seeing some breath taking sites. However some of the places you are taken to visit on this trip are far to touristy. (We have travelled a lot to ‘touristy places’ and never seen it this bad)

We went to ti top island (I believe it was called) it’s said to have a lovely beach and places the swim. Considering it’s a tiny island I believe there were 3-4 thousand people on here at once.

We were next told about kayaking. Again much the same. Hundred of people! Disappointing really.

We visited a cave on our final morning which was absolutely huge. Again, lots and lots of people.

I would rate this tour higher if they perhaps changed the route and activities so it wasn’t as crowded. But no more than a 2 for me.

We did the 2 days one night cruise from halong. For the amount of people around at the boat dock, Thang are tour guide greeted us and made sure we knew what was going on. We were however meant to picked up from our accommodation in halong but the bus never turned up.

We finally got aboard the boat about half 12 ,it was ok, a bit older looking than the photos but it was ok. The food was excellent, plenty of it and excellently prepared. We didn’t have any with allergies or intolerances though.

The first activity was stopping at ti top island which was swarming in tourists, I’m talking 1000s, you couldn’t get any good photos without people in them and the stairs to the top of the island, view point, were quite frankly dangerous, the amount of people walking up and down them. Its completely oversold and ruins it. This however was not the companies fault they just want to show the main points of halong bay.

The next activity was kayaking which we thought would be off the boat around halong however it was into a open cave like structure again with 1000s of other tourists and small boats, not quite what we were expecting but again not the companies fault but something to take into consideration.

We then went back to the boat for dinner and chill time. There was also a “lesson” in how to make spring rolls but it was really all the ingredients laid out on a tray for you to do yourself. After dinner was squid fishing however the light broke so it was only on for 5 minutes.

The room had a large bed, shower and toiled, it was a good size and clean, the bed was quite hard though which was quite uncomfortable.

The following day started early 7am for breakfast which was toast fruit and egg , we then went to the amazing caves which were stunning, we were back on the boat by 8.50 and had to be checked out of our room by 9.20 we had the rest of the morning to till 11 when we had lunch to chill on the boat and we were back on the shore by 12.

The tour wasn’t bad it just wasn’t fantastic, my advice would be to set your expectations.

We're unlucky because had a cruising trip in not really good weather but we're happy with services, staff & scenery. Halong bay is gorgeous & a must do in Vietnam. Legacy cruise boat was very good with friendly staff & delicious foods. Highly recommend!

We've had amazing cruise trip in Halong bay with Legacy Cruise. The boat was a bit old than picture but clean & safe with friendly staffs, delicious food. The view from Titop island was amazing but too crowded. The kayaking trip in Lan Ha bay was the best.
