We were on a cruise and took a 4-hour tour of Halong Bay. We got a private boat with guide for $200USD. Even on a short tour like this, the thousands of little islands are stunning to behold. We got to explore a couple of really nice caves too. Halong Bay is one of those places that somehow looks even better on overcast days, as the low clouds add to the haunting beauty. It still looks great when it's sunny though!

Our Tour guide, Vuong “Victor” picked us up on time. He was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and helpful throughout the entire day. We were two in a maximum group of 8 people taken by luxury coach (with Wifi and phone charging ports) to Halong Bay. Thoroughly enjoyed the day which included a comfort stop at a Disabled people’s marble art centre. Our boat was the Asian Dragon which included a delicious Vietnamese seafood buffet. We enjoyed kayaking around the Bay and walking through the limestone caves, which were an awesome sight, made even more interesting by Vuong’s Vietnamese folklore and legends. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent. The boat is comfortable and just the right size — about 15 people
Connections were smooth. The buffet lunch was extremely good.
The cruise manager Jackie Chan is attentive, competent, and a pleasure to talk to.
Go with this outfit if you can.

We did the one day tour with Urban Adventures and weren't disappointed. Ha Long Bay and the caves were excellent. We found the drive through the countryside to get there was also very interesting. It was good to do this with the tour guide as he highlighted many things that we probably would have missed.
