You don’t come here for the service (however, as far as Vietnamese service goes this wasn’t at all bad). What you come here for is to get a real feel of local life. The restaurant is full of young locals all having a good time. Yes, it gets smokey but I’m not sure what else you expect in a BBQ restaurant where almost every table is cooking their own food.
We ordered the ostrich and pork to cook ourselves, both came pre-marinated and were delicious. We also ordered the beef hot pot (we had to watch some locals cook theirs to know exactly what to do and the order! But we got there in the end). The English menu seems a bit more limited but still enough variety on there to have a good meal!
Overall including soft drinks our bill was 240,000vnd for 2 which really isn’t too bad - yes they do add on the cost of the sesame crackers and the napkins but when you’re talking 30p it’s not really worth quibbling over.
A must do if you’ve got some time in Da Lat and want to spend some time experiencing life as a local.
