This Hotel is gorgeous in the photos and real life too. It's not cheap even compared to similar star rated places, so I had high expectations. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Villa, with 3 small kids, and had done plenty of travel so had a good basis to compare from.
The good:
Clean, great decor, lovely tranquil location & good wifi. Da Lat is gorgeous and it has a free shuttle 3 times a day, or Taxi's at the entrance to the driveway costing 50k-100k dong for a trip into town depending where you are heading.
The bad:
- No air-conditioning in Villas - Da Lat is cooler than most places but at night we still got very hot. There was only a pedestal fan in each bedroom, not even ceiling fans, and you can't leave the windows open at night due to mosquitos.
- The "Kids Club" was not a kids club, it was a play space, not a room where you can leave your child with hotel staff for an hour to enjoy a meal etc.
- The pool is small, with nothing around it, not many seats, no toys or shallow end, no spa or anything where a family could sit and enjoy more than simply doing laps.
- The paving is slippery, it was raining when we were there and my husband slipped coming out of the pool building and badly bruised his hand.
- The front desk staff were helpful but the restaurant staff were not friendly, pushing in front of you, not greeting you, taking ages to clear dishes etc.
- The breakfast buffet was one of the worst i've seen, stale food, no latte or auto coffee machine, not even black tea. They ran out of cereal, milk and pancakes frequently too.
- Just normal Vietnamese TV so only one channel in english, other places offered pay tv or netflix. There was good wifi in the room but not anywhere else in the very large resort complex, not even the restaurant or pool.
- If you had toddlers or babies these Villa's would not be appropriate, the stairs are high with no rails to hold and no way to block the staircase. We did love the villa for ages 5 and up.
- Nobody even gave us a map, I only saw one as I was leaving on a stand tucked away where you don't notice it, the resort was hard to find our way around at fist, I would have liked one on check-in.
- There is no shop just one shelf with statues to buy.
- When we turned on one of the showers it filled up with water and water went everywhere then wouldn't go down until we cleaned out the drain ourselves!
