“Finally a DYI hike!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

Can only talk about our experience...but we have been looking to be able to get out and hike on our own (no guides, no tours) and FINALLY we found it!
Took the public bus there and back for 15,000 dong (i think) each way. 10,000 per person for the entrance fee and we were off, no one trying to sell us anything.

We walked for about an hour up the steep paved road which was empty save for the green jeeps carrying tourists that came roaring by. There was a little shack with a map and trail head off the right, leading up to the left peak and we took that trail. If we continued on the road, we would have made it to the radio tower peak, where the jeeps and motobikes will also bring you.
Great to be off the road, in pine trees (!), and finally after a slog up some check steps that seemed to go straight up the mtn. we made it to the top!

Beautiful scenery and hike, and completely worth it, even if you're dead tired. Great way to get away from the haggling and traffic and enjoy local scenery on your own.

I did it in Chacos which was fine, although it's a bit slippery depending on conditions.
I would not reccommend the trail if it's been raining that day. Bring water and a snack!

“Lang Bian”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Lang Bian mountain is the right place to go if you want to see the whole Dalat. The view on top was great, what they did with the place is a little bit commercial.

“Great view”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Try the Lang Biang trail for a challenging trip to the top of the mountain. Loved the location and the view. Pretty decent history lesson of the mythology surrounding the place. The view was really nice, on the top you can eat crocodile at the barbecue if you feel like it.

“3 peaks - did 2”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We did the trip with our guide Tan (Black Bear) Groovy Gecko Adventure Tours (Dalat). Managed to do 2 peaks not using the road. Good views from the 2 peaks. At second peak Tan produced a tasty picnic lunch. In view of our fitness and time constraints we decided to avoid the third peak. A good day out in the countryside.

“Climbing Lang Bien mountain”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

My wife and I (we are in our 50's) started at the bottom rather than use the jeep service. To do so you need a guide who knows the way as we did not take the road! We were really happy with our guide - Lai Van Tien (Mr.) from Dalat Trip Co Ltd. I would recommend anyone wanting a great guide to take you anywhere in Dalat to contact him. His email address is: tien.lai@dalattrip.com He may only be 20 years old but is we really enjoyed his company.

The walk takes several hours but is well worth the effort! Lots of photo opportunities and great scenery as well as the sense of accomplishment. Tien packed a picnic lunch so we were well catered for. At one stage we were feeling a bit tired but when we saw a group of Vietnamese including an 80 year old woman coming back down - we found the motivation to press on. We did have a beautiful day - we needed our sunscreen and carried water, however our waterproofs and insect repellent were not required.
