Axel and the staff are so helpful especially the lovely linh - extremely polite, making us feel welcome in this intimate, beautiful villa. The spacious room had a large sauna shower perfect after a return from a day exploring the beautiful surroundings. It is a very pleasant 20min walk to the busy city centre along the lake, but if you don't fancy walking, there are plenty of mopeds available to hire or a small taxi fare. Perfect for a quiet retreat to recharge! Breakfast was fantastic & at a small price, not forgetting the BEST coffee in Vietnam!!! Thanks guys :-) worth every penny!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Zen Cafe. The room was lovely and our hosts, Axel and Mai Dung, were very friendly and helpful. They provided a map of Dalat and spent time talking about all of the different things we could visit and do.

They were also able to arrange a tour for us with a local taxi driver who spoke good English. We were able to plan our own day around what we wanted to see.

The cafe provided lovely and reasonably priced breakfasts (at any time of the day), including really good coffee and ginger and honey tea, which is a life saver if you are recovering from a cold.

The location of Zen Cafe was excellent, it is just the right distance from the city centre to provide a relaxing place to return to after a day of sightseeing or exploring. It is also in a good location for a number of places you might want to visit. Motorbikes and bicycles are also available for hire and if you need a taxi they can arrange one for you with a reliable company.

Our hosts were also very helpful with our onward travel arrangements and booked bus tickets and pick up from Zen Cafe.

Dalat is a beautiful place to visit and we will definitely be returning when we do we will be staying at Zen Cafe.

We, unfortunately, only had two nights in Da Lat so our stay at the Zen Cafe and Villa was only a short one. It was, however, very enjoyable and our hosts, Axel and Dung, were very obliging and accommodating even going as far as sourcing bottled beer, his preference over cans, for my husband. With only three guest rooms, the Zen was an intimate place to stay and definitely had it over the larger hotels. The villa is located a distance from the shops but walking wasn't an issue. Our room was large and comfortable. It was a delight to sleep without the necessity of air conditioning or a fan. Because the communal area was so comfortable, we didn't miss having no television in our room. As we had only one day to sightsee, Axel organised a taxi with an english speaking driver for us and we thoroughly recommend visiting a silkworm factory and a coffee plantation. I always thought Hoi An was my favourite vietnamese city - now I think Da Lat could be.
Thank you Dung for the beautiful dinner we had with you.

We stayed one night at Da Lat and we are lucky that Zen Cafe Da Lat is available for this day.

We are arrived at Da Lat around 5 in the morning and the host give their numbers for us to call them.

We live in a large room type that also have sauna room with big bed is was clean and comfort.

The hotel located in good spotted on the hill that we can see Da Lat City and is not far from market(around 10 mins via Taxi)

Food are very yummy.

We stayed for 3 nights at this very relaxing guesthouse close to the lake in Dalat.

We loved the gardens, particularly for breakfast on the sunny mornings. It's a 10 minute walk down the hill to the lake and at least that again to town, but that is more than compensated for by the views and the location.

Our room was large and cool. It did have a kettle, but no tea or coffee, which would have been nice. Food at the café was very good, particularly the bun cha.

Axel and Mai Dung are friendly, attentive and helpful in planning your stay. We'd particularly recommend the short train ride to Trai Mat and its spectacular pagoda: the station is only 5 minutes walk away.

If you're not bothered about being in the centre of town, the Zen Café is an excellent choice.

Axel and Diem/Mai (Sp?) have a nice spot here on the hill - just outside the city of DaLat – about 15-20 min walk along the lake. It's a very doable walk to the city if you like to walk.

The home is an old villa-like building with nice gardens. They have 3 rooms and a café. Rooms have high ceilings, and dark wood furniture.

The food is good here, especially the Bun cha, a family recipe of Diem's. Breakfast options are fine – eggs, with baguette, waffle, and german sausage (a nice touch from Axel's homeland Germany), but it would be nice to have breakfast included which was at most of the places we stayed in Vietnam. A Viet choice for breakfast would be nice too (just a suggestion).

Axel arranged for the airport taxi to the airport and advised of the free shuttle available upon arrival with the bus company (from Nha Trang). He also worked with us on saving money on the room (we booked the only room available but it was the larger room) and gave us a deal - a night in the smaller room & a night the larger.

The only things to point out that might not be to someones preference would be the lack of ceiling fans and mosquito netting in the rooms or screens on the windows (we did get a bit, but it may have been the weather at the time), no TVs in the rooms (if that is a requirement for you), and perhaps more Vietnamese dishes could be offered as breakfast options.

Axel and Diem are attentive and personable hosts and we had a great time with them.

Overall, a nice stay with nice hosts!

Room Tip: The small and next to large rooms are fine (downstairs). Furniture is nice and about the same per ro...
