Check in was great with friendly staff able to provide us with an early check-in. The room was lovely, comfortable with beautiful views of the Lake. The girl on the tour desk did not have enough English to hold such a position in such a large Hotel. Although she booked our tours successfully, she failed to convey our wishes to our guides prior to our departure. Then on the last day she told me to come back to her just prior to my spa appointment and she would take me down. When I arrived she left me waiting in the lobby for 30 mins before I had to ask her when I could go down and she apologised as there had been no need to wait! Still confused??? The spa was not cheap, and it was the worst pedicure I have ever had. It was off the underground car park, was dark and dirty looking and I was given a regular (very uncomfortable) chair to sit on without any foot rest! At the end the girl had the cheek to ask for a tip! Room service was a let down. When I ordered a western meal which was chicken served with fries or mash and what I got was a piece of chicken with virtually no meat and no side of potato with a few fresh greens I was reluctant to eat. They did swap it for another selection free of charge but insisted I fill in a comments card there and then! We also had the delightful pleasure of waking to construction noise at 7:30 instead of the stated 8:30am. Finally we handed our comments card into reception on our departure. The staff opened it at the counter, all gathered around and proceeded to read it, periodically looking directly at us! I would not stay here again!

We booked two rooms in the hotel for our family. Our lake facing rooms were clean and decently equipped, but the lake is across some busy roads and a roundabout about 200m away. There was local and international food just outside the hotel overlooking the Dalat Market. Also, transportation was a non-issue as taxi drivers were waiting outside the hotel for guests. Annoyances: Although we were late, we had to wait for a while as one of our rooms was not ready even after we were brought to the room. Despite being told that there were construction works during the morning and in afternoon, a large crane lumbered up at 11pm and started lifting heavy stuff onto the roof which we could hear. We were later told by the staff that the law only permits such works to be carried out at night! Thankfully it was for one night only. The next day, hot and cold water supply was disrupted late at night and into the morning. My room was lucky was we got the supply back before breakfast. Other guests we spoke to were not so lucky and had to bathe in cold water. Perhaps this could be due to the works being carried out on the rooftop.

The fitness center on the mezzanine level had equipment which seemed too small for adults so it's not worth a visit.

Tip: AVOID the hotel spa. Although cheap (D300,000-350,000 for 90mins), the place is dark and has a strange smell. It gave us the creeps. It was an oversight on our part not to check out the facilities beforehand!

Room Tip: As for a room away from the noisy disco music.

We stayed at Premier Deluxe Room. The Premier Deluxe room has great view facing the lake with huge balcony. But need to be extra careful for those with young kids. We like the colors and the design of the room.

Check-in was late because there were group checking out and the housekeeping required longer time to clean the whole room. We got our room after 4pm.

Noise probably the main issue. Because of ongoing construction on the top floor and the main road traffic. At night, we had to close balcony door and used the provided fan and I sweated.

Location wise is great, just within walking distance to the market and the lake. We experienced the 'chaotic' but unique night market.

The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Ngoc Lan hotel was not bad but I would recommend to stay at Saigon Dalat Hotel instead (based on my experience staying there in Dec'11).

We were excited about staying here and the reception was great on arrival. HOWEVER we were woken at 6.30am both mornings by the building work on the roof. The sign in the room stated that it wouldnt start until 8.30am. We tried to change room which they were good about but the noise was even worse. Breakfast was depressing, below standard buffet. The general feel of this hotel is conference/business. We felt frowned upon as backpackers and were ignored when we tried to complain. Shame as it tainted our brief stay in lovely Dalat.

Currently a construction site. We were booked to stay for four nights and left after one. The staff on check-in were excellent and very organised. Our room was clean and large, the bed was not very comfortable. The main problem was the noise; our room was at the front of the hotel (lake view room) the road noise goes most of the night, dog started barking constantly at 5 AM and the builders started on the construction on the roof area of the hotel at 7 AM. The food was bland and breakfast was poor.

Same as most of the other reviewers have said if you stay in the front rooms you will cop a fair bit of noise from the nitre clubs close by. We were lucky it rained each afternoon and night for the 2 nights we were there so the crowds weren't about and the noise not that much of a worry. The views and proximity are great but the breakfast was not the best. The room also got a bit warm ever with the portable cooler going.
Wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front can get very noisy.

Booked this hotel for 2 nights in a deluxe room. Arrival was handled well and shown to our 2nd floor room. Was amazed at size which was about 60 sq mtrs. The bed was a super king and comfortable. Bathroom and bath and separate shower. No fitted aircon but did have a portable unit. However, did not really need it. Great views of lake and market from balcony. The hotel was full but you would not have known it. Have to agree with previous comments about street noise which can be intrusive and goes on all night. Another negative was that the hotel failed to answer several emails regarding pickup from airport. Otherwise would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: As others have said if you want a view put up with the noise or request a room at back of hotel.
