Superb old style French hotel located just a few minutes outside of the noisy motorcycle filled streets. Great value for the money ($40) but don't expect a 4 star stay. The rooms are definitely in need of a remodel. The hotel itself reflects a time gone by and you can easily imagine yourself to be in France in the early 1900s. The dining room is magnificent and the breakfast is truly delicious. The front desk is extremely helpful and aided me in booking both train tickets online and bus tickets. Ha was extremely patient with us. Ask for a room with a view of the mountains not the main road.
A tip - the bath plug doesn't come out once closed. Room service had to use a knife to get it out twice!

A beautiful building in a great location, but that's where it ends.
Bedding discoloured and tatty, bathroom tile grout thick with black mould, hotel information pack in the room mostly refers to The Dalat Palace Hotel (which is a couple of hundred yards up the road), and I was informed at check-in that "Breakfast is taken across the road in The Cafe De La Poste." This information is backed up (incorrectly) once more in the room. info pac. No it is not! It is taken in Le Bistro in the basement of The Du Parc Hotel. Once there, breakfast is equally disappointing; the food is at best tepid, coffee, tea and fruit juices infrequently topped up and staff appear indifferent. One big exception (apart from the man who checked me in with duff info) is the Lobby / reception staff, particularly the barman, Anh who is pleasant, attentive and welcoming. With some attention to detail, this would be a great hotel, but at present it does not live up to it's own advertising.

A charming beautiful hotel, overlooking the lake in a colonial style. Rooms are lovely and the entire place has an aura of serenity. Pretty close to the city center as well. When this "package" comes wrapped with with exquisite service you just think that you are back "in the good old days"... One of the hotels we won't forget from our Vietnam tour.

Nice lake view and beautiful room
The room on 4th floor has attic roof and a small little cute window that you can look around the lake side. The service is friendly. Especially this is clise to every other attractions that Da Lat can offer.

A Vietnamese travel agent working to a pre-agreed overall budget for the entire trip booked this hotel for us. My first experience of the hotel came when we checked in at 11pm after a late flight from Hanoi and had to carry our own bags to our room as there was only one person on the desk and another party waiting to check in.

On the plus side it is a 1930s classic hotel with a lot of charm. The suite we were in was comfortable with a separate living room, (the furniture though does need updating). The bathroom too was spacious for the period that the hotel was build in. The bed was comfortable too and the room was very quite, & easy to sleep in. Service on the whole was friendly and hotel is in easy walking distance to many of the attractions of Da Lat. The breakfast buffet is very filling with lots of choice (Asian & Western). On the negative side, even with all of the charm, it felt like we were staying at a an old slightly rundown hotel & the single antique elevator with metal cage doors soon lost it's novelty and had me wishing I was on the first floor rather than the 4th, so I could walk up the stairs.

On balance though, you are getting more than what you are probably paying for and this hotel is perfect for budget conscious travelers and families. We ended up staying the entire 4 nights of our booking and on the whole found it comfortable. It is actually not a bad base to explore Da Lat from. We were out every day from right after breakfast and out into the evenings as we had a driver & guide booked to show us the region. So we were only really sleeping in the hotel each night. In this kind of situation it seems almost wasteful spending more money seeking out a 5 star hotel. Spend the money eating out and sight seeing, Da Lat is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Vietnam, the fields of flowers are breathtaking, being on a solo boat trip on Tuyền Lâm Lake surrounded by Pine forests was one of my high light moments from this trip. The natural beauty is breath taking ( please see the photos). With experiences like this the accommodation does become somewhat secondary and so having an economic base for your stay like this hotel makes a lot of sense.
