Only 2 floors of rooms in this 3-storey palace with basement and tunnel. The decor and fittings are "19th Century" - large room with high ceiling & en suite bathroom/toilet. "Antique bathtub" so have to be careful not to flood the bathroom when taking showers in the bathtub. Actually the overall setting is very romantic - nostalgic library, "cigar room", no elevators - walking up wooden stairs and floors and paintings/photos adorn the walls. Like living in a palace.
Breakfast is good. The selection of breakfast laid out in the restaurant may not seem much, the waiters/waitresses will take orders such as beef/chicken pho, fried eggs/omelette, Vietnamese coffee, fruit juices, which are displayed. There's a fireplace in the restaurant to keep the place warm. Good wine selection.
Excellent service and the service staff can speak English. Complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the hotel including its gardens.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake are also closer to the road which can be noisy given that Vietnamese drivers u...

We stay 2 nights with family at the Dalat Palace Hotel in 14 December . They preserve this historical French style hotel in the Vietnam highlands very well. Staff excellent and ervice are all excellent. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings, French doors and windows.
It is really peaceful and romantic place for couple that is different with other hustle hotels around Vietnam. If you expect to have a airconditioner here, please forget it as there is no hotel in Da Lat need air conditioning. It makes no use here while the weather is always cool and beautiful.. The bathroom with amazing old fashioned bath tubs with French art throughout.. They offer not a cheap deal, but if you like this style really quite romantic and it deserves.
Thank you Dalat Palace, We will be back soon!

Room Tip: Add the request with view to Xuan Huong Lake if you would like to have a nice view room

Ignore the expense this is a historical gem. Step back in time and marvel in the surroundings, beautiful grounds immaculately kept, excellent service, the quirky but wonderful Larry's bar and only 43 rooms in this large hotel means plenty of space, comfort and quiet.

On our walk around the lake we included the very long climb up the front steps to the Dalat Palace Hotel. The view was worth the climb. I love grand old hotels. This one is in very good original condition, renovations have not spoiled this hotel and made it into a 5 star chain. The bedroom that I viewed was luxurious, but in a very tradition style, I suspect it would not meet many peoples needs. We had lunch in a very grand diningroom, a great experience, overlooking the lake. The set 3, course menu was about 500-600,000 vnd, didn't look that interesting. We shared a tagliatelle with a smoke salmon cream sauce, very enjoyable, Caesars salad, dressing very poor, lemon juice with sugar syrup served in small jug (the drink served everywhere on my first trip to VN in 2001, but seems impossible to find now), 1 beer and 1 glass Dalat red wine 570,00 vnd. Was the food worth the spend? No. Was the experience worth the cost? Definitely YE S. I would love to stay at The Dalat Palace if the price per room was 70$.

It's the best hotel in Dalat! simply put! Located on a hill overlooking Xuan Huong lake, the room has an aw inspiring view of the lake, especially when dawn breaks. At that early hour of the morning ,one can see the mist forming over the lake, with the mountain in the background giving it such a mystique and serene look. The hotel is within walking distance to Dalat central market, the main cathedral, and the botanical garden. Staying at this hotel, one can feel as time stands still with the elegant French-Indochina era architecture. The french restaurant at the hotel offers the best French cuisine in town. The ambiance is both palatial and romantic, especially when it's candle lit! Room is spacious with all furniture and decoration are recently refurbished original pieces of the Palace hotel All of those pieces can actually belong to to a museum. The service is impeccable as well with staffs attend and respond immediately to your need. The room rate is very good comparing to others in town and especially comparing to the piece of history, relaxing atmosphere and services that you get while staying there.

Just spent 2 nights with my family at the Dalat Palace Hotel. Remarkable preservation of a historical French style hotel in the Vietnam highlands. Staff excellent. Service excellent. Rooms make you think you are in Europe with high ceilings, hugely spacious, French doors and windows. Seriously peaceful compared to the usual hustle and bustle of Vietnam. No air conditioning, not really necessary at this time of year. No real shower but amazing old fashioned bath tubs. French art throughout. Only 2 dozen rooms. Very private. Great idea. Not cheap, but if you like this style really quite romantic.

Room Tip: Traffic noise is slight but inescapable.

This beautiful old style hotel is in superb position in central Dalat, with spectacular views over the valley and lake. The refurbished 1922 hotel is a step back in time, with beautiful high ceilings, chandeliers, balconies and polished fllorboards. The staff are very helpful and can arrange anything guests require.

The golf course isthe only 18 hole course in Dalat, but it is in very good condition, not too many bunkers, with spectacular views and dramatic water-carries over lakes and streams. The caddies are very experienced and speak good English.

The Spa facility has very good treatments, more expensive than downtown, but in a superb location on the second floor of the hotel.

The restaurant has superb High Afternoon Tea, although the local scones were like rock-cakes. The dinner service was superb, but the dinners were not as hot as should be. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and has everything you could ask for.

Overall, this is a romantic hotel, in a superb location, with excellent service.

Room Tip: Ask for a free upgrade, if one is available.
