We splurged a bit on this quaint place and were not disappointed in any respect, well except for the bath tub and the smokers. The room was spacious enough to be comfortable, not air-conditioned but this wasn't needed being nicely cool inside and out. French shutters opened to view the nearby hills and frequent rain was a daily delight, until another smoker came along! Breakfast was uniformly excellent each day and always topped up the big variety of dishes with new ones before a famine broke out. An additional bonus was the display of really old French and German vehicles from WW11 and the French occupation in the 1940's. There was also a modern BMW super bike on display that had my wife salivating at the thought of riding it. Yeah right! The staff were well trained and apart from ignorant tourists who walked about the place smoking indiscriminately making it most unpleasant to be nearby. If you fancy a trip down memory lane, French style, The Saphir is for you. Strongly recommended
