“A great place to stay”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Room is large and nice. A good breakfast buffet. Staff is helpful, but English is not too good but still can communicate. Hotel is in a good location within an easy walk to the city market area and the lake. A couple of cons. There was no air conditioning in the room. There is one vent in the bathroom, but not enough to cool the room in the afternoon. There was one window we could open but no screen. For a place depending on tourism, the staff knows very little about attractions in the area. They can only direct you to tour companies. No one at the hotel even knew where the tourism office is located. It is about 1/2k past the hotel along the lake and worth a visit. But even with these cons, I would stay here again. If you fly into Dalat airport which is about a 30 minute drive from the city, take the airport shuttle bus instead of a taxi and it is less than a 1/3 of the price. They will also take you to the Best Western. I think you wil enjoy a stay here.

We stayed at the Plaza for 10 nights in total. We got an incredible deal of £19.50 per double room per night including breakfast. Our room was 402 it overlooked the lake - great view! The room had a very comfortable bed, a fridge, a safety deposit box a seating area, wardrobe, vanity table and mirror, and tea/coffee making facilities with free sachets of coffee and artiso tea. The bathroom had a bath with shower over, the shower was hot and powerful - very refreshing! There were complimentary toiletries and bottled water and the bathroom also had a hairdryer. The room was north-facing and had no heating or air conditioning, this meant it was cold and a bit damp in the winter months with overnight temperatures of 10 degrees. We did, however, notice towards the end of our stay that there were heat lamps in the corridor that must have been available. Good free wi-fi connection. The room was kept spotlessly clean. I used the gym a couple of times, I used the treadmill only but there were about four other pieces of equipment in there - there was free bottled water available. The buffet breakfast was great and made a big difference to our stay. Many other reviewers have commented that it was for locals only. Well, I would say, you are in Vietnam and what better way to sample Vietnamese cuisine - the food is labelled so you can make a note of it if you like it. If you don't like it you can leave it! For westerners there was bacon, a selection of cold meats, a selection of fruits, apple and peach juice, tea and coffee, toast making facilities with 4 types of bread and there was an egg station! There was also a pasta choice. Eastern food included a Pho Bo station, sauteed vegetables, rice cakes (it was Tet), fried rice, fried noodles, rice porridge, sui mai dumplings and Vietnamese sausage. Occasionally, there would be a special such as Bo Kho. As you can tell, we tried everything and were really happy. I would strongly recommend the coffee with sweet milk (condensed milk) for an authentic taste of Vietnam. All in all a great stay in Dalat Plaza and a great base to enjoy what Dalat has to offer.

Second time to Dalat, but others in our party have been there many times. we all agreed this hotel was good quality and value. the breakfast was excellent, with a good range of choices, and an egg cook/chef on duty too.
It's a central location , but street noise was not a problem. handy to the centre of town with a short walk to markets, lake, restaurants, shops and the Night Market.
reception and Porter staff were all helpful and good English.

Room Tip: Saigon hotels could learn a lesson from the ones in Dalat about overall quality and service.

I'd booked a superior triple room (3 single beds) & upon arrival we were taken to a deluxe triple (a double bed and one single), which wasn't going to suit myself and two teenage sons. Staff were extremely helpful and promptly (no fuss) sorted the error out and within a few minutes we were shown to our superior triple room which was ample big enough for the three of us. We had a room at the rear of the hotel, so no traffic noise. Unfortunately we had to contend with a dog in a nearby house that wouldn't shut up day & night, but that's not the hotel's fault! The Vietnamese and Western breakfast was great and the restaurant staff extremely attentive - they'd top up my coffee and bring our eggs over to us, rather than have us standing waiting for them to be cooked. A nice touch. The hotel is far enough from the market area to not have the noise of traffic, but close enough to walk (5 minutes, tops). It's only a few minutes across the road to Xuan Huong lake, which is lovely to walk around. We also walked to the flower garden, which took approx 20 mins at slow(ish) pace, and the hotel is walking distance to the Crazy House. Dalat's cooler climate is a nice reprieve from the humidity of everywhere else! We'd definitely stay at the Best Western Dalat Plaza if we were to visit Dalat again!

We stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel is reasonably new, however, it felt really old and super outdated. It may be trendy if you're 95 years old. The rooms were very clean and quite large. However, the bathroom only had 1 small light which meant that showering was almost in the dark. Our first night we had no hot water and there was loud 'reception' style music in the hallways which could be heard inside the rooms when trying to sleep (the music stopped every night at 10pm). We could also hear extremely loud dragging noises and banging from the room above....not too sure what was going on up there? On a positive note, the location was fantastic and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is centrally located as it's only about 5 minute walk to Dalat central market. Rooms are large even compared with other Best Western hotel rooms in the US! Wifi is free and breakfast is included in the room rate making it very affordable if you book it through agoda website! The staffs there are very nice and helpful. They had tended to the requests that I had with utmost attention!

Location was good, a short walk from markets and lake. Beautifully appointed hotel and restaurant with rooms being quite large. However this hotel was missing a personal touch that we had experienced with other hotels
while in Vietnam. The front desk staff were not overly friendly and most spoke very little English. Although we had booked a triple room only 2 bottles of water were provided and a limit of 1 tea bag per room! Breakfast was good and the restaurant offered both a big selection of western and asian cuisine although at quite a high price. We booked a countryside tour through them which was very good. This hotel is part of a large chain but there is a lot to be said for the small things which make a stay memorable in a good way. Unfortunately this was lacking and we would most likely try somewhere else next stay in Dalat.
