Good location.

located within walking distance to the night market nearby, about 15 min walk. The night market has food (seafood, shell fish, if you are in to all that kinda stuff). Its not exactly very value for money if you have tried the seafood in Hochimin, but its still cheap.

There are a couple of chillout pubs and bars nearby, also walking distance. If you wish to club, there is a club ENVY nearby as well. Never went inside. but it looks decent from the exterior.

Also, its located 2 streets away from this amazing Wan Ton Mee stall, which is a great choice for dinner. Great food and cheap as well. You should also try a local viet hot pot stall hidden in the alleys just beside the hotel. It serves beef hotpot with egg noodles. Was exceptionally good considering the weather was so cold.

BUT. The buffet breakfast aint fantastic.

And if you are planning on going dalat in Aug. be sure to bring an umbrella and a jacket cause it gets rather cold.

Very poorly designed hotel which was the worst stay we have experienced in many years of travel. Booked a suite, which had a living room with no natural light at all. No window ,no door. Staff changed us to top floor suite which looked better. For three nights we were subjected to major plumbing knocking all night long. Poor wifi, very thin walls, bad feng shui and the worst breakfast buffet imagineable. Very sad unhelpful staff who were more concerned that guests would steal ashtrays and umbrellas, and acquire breakfast vouchers illegally than have a nice time. Really diminished enjoyment of a lovely city. Avoid at all costs.

We loved our 2 nights here. The rooms were great if occasionally a little noisy from corridor traffic but certainly nothing too disruptive. Breakfast was great, in a lovely big room and especially loved the strawberry juice. Definitely recommend this place to all, we would go back if we ever return to Dalat.

Saigon Dalat is located conveniently, within walkable distance from the Central Market and the lake. Dalat being a quiet town with very less traffic and surprisingly no signal lights and broad roads, this hotel is in a very nice locaton. With about 160 rooms and decent facilities, the hotel stands out in good service and helpful staff. English as always is a big issue almost all over vietnam, we could still find someone in the staff with whom we could communicate. We were given a Junior suite, though at the back of the hotel, had pleasant views, had a small balcony, though without a shade. The views were lot of houses and shops and mountain at a distance. It was difficult to stand out as the balcony didnt have a shade and it was raining almost all days during our stay. The room was weel kept, with all needed amenities, with a TV which can be turned to both sides, whether you are in the bed or in the sitting area. Food was nothing much to talk about but the efficiency in taking order by room service and the delivery and presentation of food was commendable. We would like to go back and stay in the hotel.

The Saigon Da Lat is a great hotel. We stayed in a suite room which was very spacious and for the few extra dollars well worth it. It had a separate sitting area with TV and comfortable lounges. The pool attracted us to the hotel and it looked quite good and is inside, but in the end we didn’t use it as the weather was quite cool. The hotel is in walking distance (about 300m to 400m) to lake, market or town centre, but if you don’t want to walk it’s about one dollar in a taxi and there always seemed to be one or two waiting outside the hotel. The breakfast was very good, I loved my poached eggs and my wife liked her omelette, the fruit was fresh and tasty and there was a variety of other foods. The only criticism would be that the restaurant menu didn’t inspire us and we always ate out, but then there is such an overwhelming number and variety of restaurants to choose from in the town. As we have found so often in Vietnam the staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful

Room Tip: suite room is good value

Great hotel in interesting town. Excellent suite, welcoming and friendly staff, large warm indoor pool, central location for easy exploration of the town. Spotlessly clean, great atmosphere. We had to leave early in the morning so the kitchen staff got up half an hour early to make sure that we had breakfast before leaving.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of Southern Vietnam (with our own driver and guide). Arrived after a long journey from Ho Chi Minh City (9 million people and 6 million motorbikes!) along roads lined with tea and coffee plantations where buses simply drove on whichever side of the white line was quickest! Dalat was pretty chilly by late afternoon - but what a lovely setting for a city. Founded in 1893 and would, today, still not look out of place in Central Europe. Not a joke: pack a fleece to wear in the evenings - it is cold. (the night market was full of heavy jackets, hats, scarves and even ear muffs!) Our room in the Saigon Dalat was beautifully furnished, with inlaid wooden flooring. Automatic wifi (so no need for a password) was an added bonus. It might sound strange, but a calico laundry bag is well worth purchasing as you leave - the gold embroidery is beautiful. Cannot comment on "Value" as this hotel was included in our tour price. The day we arrived was the 83rd Anniversary of the formation of Vietnam's Communist Party plus the 120th Anniversary of the founding of Dalat. So, two reasons for the locals to celebrate. We walked the 10 or 15 min to the City centre where there were crowds of people and, on a large stage, lots of dancing and strident celebratory singing (a couple of hours later, all trace had been removed!). Not quite sure that this was the future Ho Chi Minh envisaged....smart phones and ipads everywhere with no obvious internet regulation (certainly not with regard to foreign news sites anyway). None of the 3am phone calls (no one at the other end) or badly-executed "tailings" we experienced in the former USSR in the early 1980's are evident here but, no doubt, surveillance of foreigners does exits. We ate in the night market on our first night - did the job but nothing special. On the second night we ate at the Art Cafe. Superb (see separate review).
