The guest house is away from the centre but we walked the 30 mins into town quite easily and it is an interesting walk.

The staff at the hotel are really helpful and do their best to help you. For example, the owner lent us her plastic rain macs when we were heading out to save us having to locate a shop in the rain!

The room was filled with natural light and everything was very clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked and just right for us. However if you prefer something more substantial the nearest cafe is only a 10 minute walk away.

We ate in the hotel once and it was very fresh and good but would recommend eating in town for the atmosphere.

Their business card says peacefull-private-professional it is all of this plus more.
Yk -Home villa hotel is run by Mary and her parents. Mary has a terteriary degree from an Australian University so her English is good. From the time you arrive you are made to feel like it is your home away from home with nothing too much trouble, it is very clean with excellent facilities . Situated about 1.7km from the town centre which is an easy walk or very cheap taxi ride. The setting is just wonderfull in a very quiet neighbourhood with corn fields on one side and well presented family homes on the other. Mary can help you organise your tours while in Da Lat and the best part is that there is no pressure only good advice. It is just the type of place once there you are reluctant to leave.

Room Tip: all are good but the suites are great

The nicest place we stayed at in Vietnam. The most welcoming family atmosphere accommodating all our needs and requests.
Nothing was too much trouble for them even to the point where Dad drove us in the family car on a day tour of local tourist sites.
Highly recommend this B&B to any one who considers this as a place to stay for a short getaway from the busy cities.
$1.50 taxi fare to get into town was more than compensated for by the peaceful rural setting.

Room Tip: VIP room

We arrived after a long bus journey, we were shown immediately to our room, and oriented to the town, with its recommended restaurants, and sightseeing Lovely, bright airy room, in quiet location, except for a barking dog!! All the staff were friendly, gentle, and spoke very good English. They were able to provide information on tours, but were not pushy. We met some Australians in the foyer, and immediately hit it off with them. Shame we didn't share emails. Our teenage son loved Dalat, and was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere in Dalat, where children played freely in the streets until after dusk. I would recommend the bakeries in the Dalat. Some of the best homemade cakes I have ever tasted.

Room Tip: The Family room looked very spacious.

In short, the service was excellent. They are so, so friendly that I have to admit, I hurts not giving them the 5 stars.

But to be honest with myself, it is a very good stay but not a fantastic one. For example, the breakfast and the restaurant isn't really good. The room is clean, spacious and the matresses are good, but we had to configure our own double bed out of two single beds. I also have to admit, she offered us (although we didn't complain) another room the 2nd night as they were more rooms available, but we refused because we only stayed two nights.

The bathroom was good, not a lot of space and the toilet was more for smaller people.

The location is a bit out of town, so you need to take one of the cheap taxis. Not a big problem. A plus is, because it's a little bit out of town, it's a lot more quiet.

Please go to this hotel, you won't be dissapointed and will be granted with the biggest hospitality ever but eat somewhere else!

Room Tip: Check your room first !

Thank goodness we stayed here.

My husband and I hired a motorbike in Saigon and rode it to Dalat. My the time we arrived, after 12 hours of riding and at almost 10pm, we were wet, freezing cold, hungry and exhausted. Mary directed us straight to our room without getting us to fill in any forms because we were "obviously cold and tired" and brought us a thermos of tea, and we were able to order room service dinner - which was delicious. The following morning, while completing the check-in process, I asked whether Mary knew if we could send our motorbike back to Saigon without riding it ourselves. Over the next two days, she arranged for it to be sent back to Saigon by bus, dropped it off at the bus station, booked and paid for flights for us and somehow managed to look after the other guests.

Our room was lovely - very spacious with a balcony overlooking the valley. My only criticism would be the bathroom, which would have benefited from the application of some bleach instead of just being hosed down, but this was minor in the context of our stay.

Mary and her family have struck the perfect balance between a BnB and a homestay - we left feeling as though we had made some new friends.

Dalat is just spectacular. The surroundings with the tree lined hills, fields and paddies and an architecture that somehow has preserved the colonial area. The YK home is situated in one of those French houses. My room was spacious and had an adjoining bathroom. The breakfast was served downstairs in a common area with a view of the garden. The Guesthouse is situated a little out of town so it takes a bit of walking to reach the market in the center. But all in all fantastic value and highly recommended.
