Don't know how we missed this place when we booked our visit to Da Lat, but glad we found it.
The surroundings are very nice, but so is the food, I started with the French onion soup which was probably the best I have tasted anywhere, the main we had tenderloin which was cooked very nicely, accompanied by creamed spinach.
There's a really good wine selection which is nice to finish off sitting on the terrace.
The service was excellent, a great experience all round, the next time in Da Lat we will be staying at this hotel.

Thank Dave M

When the summer months get very hot in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat in the mountains is the traditional escape destination, normally 10 degrees cooler than HCMc. Le Rabelais Restaurant is situated in the Dalat Palace Hotel, a lavish colonial residence surrounded by lovely gardens. The restaurant decor carries through with an opulent colonial feel, chandeliers and art work, and full silver service and pianist playing Erik Satie. The food was heavily French influenced with a matching wine list. Definitely in the 5 star range for Vietnam, & pretty special for a birthday or an anniversary.

Our family if four enjoyed a delicious lunch at Le Rabelais on Christmas Day. We chose the set menu and it was all delicious. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine with our lunch as well. The service was very good. The setting is gorgeous in a beautiful dining room in a renovated old colonial French building with sweeping views of the river. There are some beautifully appointed dining rooms off the corridor and interesting pictures on the walls about the Dalat Palace Hotel ( previously the Lang Bian Palace Hotel) .

We dined at Le Rabelais for a special occasion and were impressed with the customer service we received from the staff. The restaurant setting is beautiful and our meal was great. All in all an unforgettable experience.

The decor of this room is outstanding. It would have looked the same 50 years ago. The view over Dalat is enchanting. The staff service is first rate. The wine selection good, food just lovely, could not be faulted. It was an unhurried dining experience in the true French way. Treat yourself and eat here. It was nice to see the ladies dressed up, disappointing to see the young men under dressed
