We were surprised to discover such a delightful French restaurant in the middle of Dalat that offers the kind of serious cooking one would be happy to find in Paris or New York. An inspired menu. Serious but unpretentious service. A sophisticated and inviting setting. Big hit of the evening was the beef and pesto filled nem that accompanied the perfectly prepared duck. It was inexpensive. Worth it.

The Palace Hotel is one of the gems of Dalat. The setting, the gardens, etc are all amazing, and worth a visit. The Rabelais is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen in Asia. We had lunch there, not cheap, food was good (not amazing but good). Service was excellent, as expected for such a venue. Well worth a visit, and a walk around the hotel is also worth the time.

It was raining evening when me and friend coming to Le Rabelais of Dalat Palace Hotel for Hi-Tea.

To be exact, I am ordering hot Arabica coffee and my mate ordered ice coffee with cookies. This is really a good choice to make me warm during the raining day visit to Dalat. We are here around 4.30pm before heading for dinner at other place and wait for the rain stop.

The service staff maybe don't speak much English, but at least they know how to do their job.

Some people says that having coffee in five star places is very expensive, but think back, you might spend more when you are in your home country. VND80,000 (including VAT and service charge) for 1 drink is still acceptable for me.

Choose to be seated at terrace area which is you can enjoy the view of Dalat City and Xuan Huong lake.

After a few drinks in LArry's Bar, I ascended to Le Rabelais. What a room. Vaulted and gilded ceilings. I had an excellent coffee served with petit fours on the terrace, retreating to the restaurant when the rain became too heavy. Great experience.
