Owner description: Phi Phi Cruiser The Great Family Day OutA Visit to Phi Phi Island is a must during your stay in Phuket. A great day out for all the family. The number one choice for your day on Phi Phi Island.

Cruiser looked great in brochure. Reality was, on the day we booked, air conditioning in one small part if boat. The rest of the boat was uncomfortably hot. Tickets were oversold so there were not enough seats and a lot of people sitting on floor. Two hours sitting on the floor not good. Because its a big boat too it can't get close like a speed boat and it takes twice as long to get to phi phi. In summary I highly recommend a speedboat. We saw a lot of them and they looked great.

Phi Phi Cruiser - based on the brochure we expect more than what we had received, overall disappointing.
Pickup from the hotel was late by over 40 minutes, then the boat left the dock late (over 1/2 hour), left Phi Phi island late (waiting in the boat for an hour), left the dock late by half an hour on return to the hotel. Not impressed.
1 hour for snorkeling, though it takes up to 1 +30 minutes of your time.
If snorkeling, only 1 hour on Phi Phi for lunch, that's it. If you do not snorkel, then you may be able to get up to 3 hours on the island to do a little sightseeing, including time for lunch.
The included lunch was at Phi Phi Hotel, quite good, not a real buffet, and they do not refill the plates on the tables - so grab early.
Get on the boat early to get decent seats - if you can.
Leaving Phi Phi island can be a challenge as seats fill up rapidly - well before the boat is scheduled to leave. There appears to be many more passengers on this boat when leaving Phi Phi Island, than when arriving. This boat also takes guests that are intent on staying overnight at Phi Phi in addition to the daily tours. Most of the people on this boat are on the scheduled tour, though this boat will take other passengers on board.

Would we Return: yes to Phi Phi Island

Would we use the same operation: definitely not. i.e. Phi Phi Cruiser.

Would we recommend this Attraction: Not worth it, for the time spent waiting in the shuttle, on the boat to leave the dock (both directions) and the snorkeling boat, limited seating. There was also an additional 20 baht port charge to enter Phi Phi - no money, stay on the dock, and no lunch.

Fun-filled with magnificent gorges with crystal clear ocean! Excellent guided tours while island hopping. Snorkeling would be a good choice but do remember your sunblock :)

We did this to fill in a spare day to get out of Patong town.
And for the price what more could we have expected?
The boat was full when we left Rassada Pier, near Phuket town, and the sea fairly calm. Everyone seemed to have a seat, and the snack-bar was doing a good trade.
Cruised into the bay where the movie The Beach was made, but only saw about 20metres of the beach which was not blocked up with speedboats, what a mess.
Then on to the town, and a mix in with hundreds of others in the push for the lunch provided at the hotel, at least it was well organised, with allocated table numbers, food already waiting on the table. Food was ok, but not a meal to remember, nor was it expected.
Then it was our tUrn, (yellow stickers) to go for a snorkel swim. So on to a smaller boat for the 200metre trip, where the boat was tied alongside a moored pontoon, (tied to a large lump of coral on the sea floor). Then all the passengers put on masks and some also flippers, for a short swim. A real disaster waiting to happen. No counting of heads into and out of the water. Luckily it was flat calm, but there was a slight current or tidal flow, but considering a lot of people were wearing life-vests, they were lucky to not get swept away.
Anyway eventually everyone squeezed back on the boat, and back to the main ferry, for the return trip to Phuket. But this ferry was already full of people returning from their stays on the island. So at least 200 people had no seats, a very bad case of overloading.
Anyway after a two hour trip we disembarked safely, and very glad to be rid of that day trip. A bad experience of a day.
