After driving down the long lusciously green pathway on my way to check in, I ran into a gorgeous peacock. The staff was so attentive and sweet, even walked us to our room. The quaint room consisted of two huts, one hut is your room and the other is the family room, joined together by an adorable porch. It's the kind of perfectly serene place you would expect to find in the middle of nowhere, which is incredibly refreshing seeing as Pattaya is anything but. The pool had the cutest little table on the shallow side, perfect for setting your laptop on while being half immeresed in the cool water on a hot day. I absolutely loved staying here, and highly recommend it to anyone going to Pataya!

went for an afternoon in swimming pool then we decided to spend 1 night the day after. the place is wonderful surrounded by the nature. quiet. the thai style bungalows are great, very clean and comfortable . real thai style. the swimming pool is so nice with a big jacuzzi and steam sauna. the food was delicious. Few people, i guess it's low season. u need a motorbike or taxi because the place is located on between pattaya and jomtien.

Room Tip: i prefer the bungalow surrounding the swimming pool

I didn't stay in the hotel but I have been three times to the Sugar Hut restaurant. The food is Ok, rather good but not better than a few (much cheaper) restaurants I know in Pattaya or Jomtien.

If you go to Sugar Hut it can be only for the beautiful garden or traditional Thai house. What is the most unpleasant is the service. Even if there is many smiles and politeness the waiters can't hide the fact that they are here to make you spend as much money as possible and also as fast as possible. You just have the menu in your hands for a few minutes when the waiter arrives and makes you understand that you have to order quickly. They also try to recommend you the most expensive meals. It's even too obvious and very heavy.

I have been there in high season and low season and each time there were many unoccupied tables. This is not a surprise when you see how you are welcomed.

When my wife and I arrived at Sugar Hut Restaurant for dinner, the night air was cool and fresh after the heavy afternoon rain. As our car turned from the main Thap Phraya Road into Sugar Hut Resort & Restaurant, the car's head lights picked out the deep shadows of a long tree-lined driveway. The darkness and quietness seemed surreal in Pattaya. We were led to the restaurant, passing by the resort's main swimming pool.

There are two traditional Thai-style teak houses with dining tables and chairs, and one pavilion where diners sit on cushions on the teak floor and dine off a low table. We chose the latter. There were four other diners that evening, probably because of the afternoon rain. We had the pavilion to ourselves.

We were introduced to the 5 signature dishes and we ordered 3 of them - fried banana blossoms, spicy seafood in coconut, and flour dumplings dessert in coconut cream. We also ordered fried sea bass with spicy, sweet and pickled chilly dip. All the dishes were good. Dinner's pace was relaxing and made more enjoyable by the serenade of traditional string instrument being played by a musician. Whenever we needed anything, we were asked to ring a small bell placed on our dining table.

The traditional Thai atmosphere complemented the Thai cuisine vert well. Cloistered in the resort's expansive, landscaped grounds away from lively Pattaya, we had a memorable and very relaxing dining experience.

This resort completely blew me away. I am so happy I discovered this place.
Pattaya! What a city. Sometimes it can be all a bit too much. This resort is as the name suggests a resort. It's only 5 minutes from the main drag but it feels like its own island of lush jungle and manicured gardens.
Each room is a raised up traditional pavilion/ hut, which has its own bridge to your second pavilion which is your living room with a flat screen tv, mini bar and a fully stocked wine fridge. Each residential pavilion is different as they are scattered across the property and designed to blend into the grounds. Therefore privacy is exceptional.

From what I can gather there are 30 rooms. However there are three pools and these pools are no joke. They are large pools all of them have a bar areas. They water is clean. The whole resort is exceptionally clean. This place must require a small army to maintain the grounds. With only 30 rooms and three pools I rarely crossed another guest which is a lovely surprise in the dirty messy city which is pattaya, I felt like I had the resort to myself only to be shared with peacocks which were roaming around.

The other thing about this resort is the service. Usually when you go to a resort you are hounded by staff trying to over serve you. Not here, they are on the ball and give you the discretion to do what you need to do. Their English is exceptional and they are willing to provide you with almost anything you want as long as you ask.

In the restaurant for example there are bells on every table. The staff don't hound your table. If you need something you ring the bell and boom they come running. Phenomenal.

But back to the room. All the mod cons you would expect in any high end city hotel but within a traditional Thai pavilion. Awesome right? But it's the little things I love. Have you ever gone on vacation and realised you forgot to bring swimming trunks? Or even forgot to bring a shirt? Unfortunately I do this... often. It was so exciting to see that this hotel was ready for this. Every room already comes with traditional clothes for use by guests. Fisherman trousers, traditional peasant shirts, swimming trunks. I would never consider buying a pair of traditional fisherman pants. but i had to try them out. now I can't go anywhere without wearing these new clothes.

It's the little things this hotel offers that has made me fall in love.
One could criticise the resort is away from the heart of the city but that in essence is ridiculous because its 6 minutes drive to the infamous walking street or a pleasant 20 minute walk. The hotel may not be on the beach but if you walk 5 minutes down a hill you will pass some shops, massage parlours, tour offices and get to the pattaya park which is an adventure world of sorts with a big water park and two more minutes of walking you will get to the beach. Also the beach in pattaya is just gross. Good thing this hotel has three pools.

In the end. If you are coming to pattaya and you want privacy, impeccable service, a truly traditional thai experience I couldn't recommend this hotel any higher.
