“Truly Excellent”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

Stayed in the resort for 3 Nights on business. The hotel check in was very fast and the porter service was also very good. the breakfast was of a good standard. The only evening meal i had at the hotel was of a very good standard but was an extortionate price. You can eat for less than half the price in town. The high speed internet was not that high speed in the room and at 450 THB per day this was a bit pricey most places have faster internet speeds and dont even charge.Overall it was a relaxing place away from the hussle and bussle of Pattaya

Room Tip: If drink from the mini bar replace the beer drunk by going to the local supermarket. they sell the s...

Dear Philip V,

Greetings from Sheraton Pattaya Resort. I'm pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. In regards to your comment about our food offerings, I apologize if you felt it was highly priced. We do have some imported food items to ensure higher quality which can bring some of the prices high but please be assured that we do conduct price comparison between the other 5 star hotels every 6 months to ensure that our prices are fairly priced. I also noted about the slow internet and please accept my apology. We currently have 20mbit bandwidth which normally is sufficient but we will review our user settings to make sure that we are providing adequate connection for our guests.

Once again, thank you for being our guest and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Warm regards,
Tomo Kuriyama

We stayed in the resort for 3 days and as far as Pattaya is concerned this was long enough. The hotel is out of town, paid 200 baht to go into Pattaya by normal taxi and 400 baht for the hotel car.
The room was a deluxe room, slightly bigger than a normal room and had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. Very large room and lovely bathroom. High ceilings throughout and well appointed. If you like to have sun on your balcony, i recommend room 203 or 204 in building N or the one s above. Most of the other rooms facing the garden will be in the shade all day long.
The pools are great, one side is dedicated more to families with children, the other has a lovely winding pool for proper swimming. The grounds are lovely, a big tropical garden leading down to the small private beach by stairs. Stairs again into the water, if you are not mobile this will be difficult but not impossible, as there are ways around the stairs. The hotel uses golf caddies to get around the resort.
The view from the lobby is breathtaking but be warned, reception staff is for decoration purposes only. That does not mean they don't expect a tip! Better to give that to the cleaning staff and bell boys, they at least work for it cheerfully.
Staff at breakfast didn't impress either if they were at all visible they were pointedly looking at.....nothing. If you drink coffee, like I do, be prepared for long waiting times in between your cups. Tea comes in a pot, so that's ok. Breakfast is ok to, nothing to rave about. Compared to the Anantara resort in Bangkok where we stayed before, the breakfast was very disappointing. I would give it 3 stars and the staff present there none.
The reason to go there is for the superb grounds, excellent views and lovely rooms. The Infinity restaurant is really good as well. Very competitive prices (cheaper than Pizza Hut) and excellent pizza and very attentive staff. Together with a lovely location, brilliant!
Overall a nice hotel but you are more likely to see a London bus driver smile at you than reception staff here.

Room Tip: For sunny balconies you need to be one level up. Rooms in building N from 201 onwards should be fine...

Dear lisa_aslp,

Thank you for your review on both the Sheraton Pattaya Resort page as well as the Infiniti Restaurant. I am pleased to learn that you enjoyed the spacious rooms as well as our grounds but honestly very sad to read the interactions you encountered at check-in and in our restaurant. There's really no excuse for this and I will make sure that the staffs are reminded of the importance of prompt and friendly service that guests expect when coming to a hospitality driven country such as Thailand.

May I thank you for being our guest and sharing your feedback and despite these incidents, I hope we will have the opportunity to welcoming you back in the future.

Warm regards,
Tomo Kuriyama

Beautiful (and very quiet) resort property, extremely friendly staff from the belldesk to housekeepers, everyone contributed to make our stay a fantastic experience. The lagoon-style pools are nice and relaxing, and a towel and complimentary water will randomly appear on your chair while you're away in the pool. The buffet breakfast has a good variety, and lunch at the Infinity restaurant overlooking the ocean was excellent. There's also a seafood dinner buffet almost every day of the week.

The hotel is on a hill and really only accessible by taxi, motorbike, or songthaew, unless you feel like taking the 30 minute hike up/down the hill by foot. There's a free shuttle bus a few times a day to/from the Central Festival shopping mall (drop off anywhere along the way), or the hotel limo will take you anywhere for about 300 baht.

To our surprise, there was a 10-15 minute fireworks show right outside our ocean-view balcony at the hotel beach on Saturday night at 8PM, it was a great way to begin our night!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are beautiful and spacious with very high ceilings.

Dear nebularis,

Thank you for your positive review on Trip Advisor. I'm most pleased to read your detailed feedback about the resort service and facilities.

I noted your comment about the fireworks and while I appreciate the recognition, it was for a private wedding and was not arranged by the hotel. However for New Years, we will have a spectacular fireworks show from our private beach so please do consider joining us!

Thank you again for being our valuable guest and we hope to welcome you back to the resort one day.

When I booked I knew that the hotel is built hillside. Anyway, I did not expect such a lot if steps and stairs without handrails. Good for to do sports... A small mistake in preparing our room was corrected to my pleasure. On typing this review, we still do enjoy the pool area and the restaurants, with breakfast and drinks served by a kind and attentive staff. The massage I booked was really good, and an Asian buffet Dinner, too. No beach- still better that the ugly ones of all Pattaya. We do enjoy what we looked for, after BKK: a good relax!

Thank you for being our guest and sharing your feedback with us through Trip Advisor. I noted your comment about the steps and as you highlighted, we are build on a slope and hope that we were able to accommodate you in a room near the lobby where we have elevators.

I appreciate your comment about the food and the spa treatment and will certainly pass them on to the team.

Once again, thank you for being our guest and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

First of all the hotel itself is nice and beautiful, but our expectation of first class hotel service is way more than what we found here. Front desk staff rarely greeted, a letter that we should have received upon arrival came nearly too late and only after asking multiple times, bar staff seemed to be disturbed by our presence and eager to close down at 22:30, no interest shown in our experience by reception staff.
But the most disturbing fact is that prices are a complete rip-off: Internet access in rooms is 450 B per day (where we had Wifi included in every other hotel we stayed in), breakfast an unbelievable 770 B, a beer from the minibar 250, all prices plus service charge and VAT. What made us laugh was an offer for a transfer to Suvarnabhumi Airport of 4000 B, so we preferred to take a taxi for 1500.
This hotel is obviously about taking as much money as possible from their guests with the least possible service. We will NOT come again.

Dear Michael S,

First and foremost, thank you for being our guest and sharing your constructive feedback with us. I'm sad to read that we had missed so many occasions to connect with you during your stay to make your vacation memorable. I will be sure to discuss with the team on the comments your provided and use it as a learning tool to make continuous improvement in service in both the restaurant and front desk.

In regards to the pricing, we do conduct periodical survey against other 5 star hotels and i can assure you that our prices are competitive in the city. I also noted your comment about our 3rd party limousine service provider's prices being higher and would like to take this opportunity to explain. As an International Hotel Brand, we do have strict policy in place to protect the safety of our guest and in order to adhere to our requirements for vehicle maintenance program and insurance coverage, cost is indeed higher than local taxi's.

I am genuinely disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction and would like to request for another opportunity as I am confident that this was a one off experience. Should you be kind enough to provide us with another chance, please do contact me so that I may assist you in booking a room package with breakfast and internet included.

Sincerely,
Tomo Kuriyama

With panoramic ocean views, set in luscious, well maintained gardens, flowing paths, waterfalls and a series of pools to suit every mood, we loved our oasis away from the hub-bub of Pattaya. This tropical resort flows down the hill to its own private beach with bar. Both restaurants are top notch in all aspects of view, decor, food and service. Breakfast is substantial, there is no wanting for anything.

Character buildings with big well appointed rooms and an ocean view is a must.

Free bus service to the top end of Pattaya which is the main shopping area. A cab from Walking Street up the hill to the hotel is 5-8 min drive.

Room Tip: Ocean view room a must. We were top floor (4th) .
