“first holiday in Thailand”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

First holiday in Thailand, was memorable, brilliant weather, lots of women and places to see.
Flipper lodge was expensive, rooms were adequate, air con, mini fridge ,fresh towels everyday for lying by the pool.Room cleaned everyday with fresh towels and everything else replenished including 2 bottles of water foc. With regard to the breakfast it depends on the individual.and what they expect.Same cereals everyday, which got a bit monotonous, you could have eggs freshly cooked together wiith omelettes and fresh pancakes.Usual fruit on offer together with tea and coffee.Would have nice to have a bacon or sausage sandwich once in a while to break the cycle. When you are paying up to £30 a night you expect good value for money. All staff are friendly and helpful and very obliging. When I go back again to this wonderful country will try somewhere else.

Room Tip: choose room at rear of hotel or use earplugs.

Flipper lodge is a great hotel for singles wanting to be in a busy area, there are many bars and resteraunts to choose from in this area and you are also only meters from the beach.
night life is excellent and you are sure to meet people of all types.

Public area looking good and clean, but room dissapointed us too much. Room is big, but with old scratched furniture, toilet seat much smaller, than toilet, no small face towels, only one free electric socket (in the bathroom) so hard to charge all devices. First time in life had ridiculous problem with a blanket. There is no normal blanket for two persons on the bed. Instead of it one thin small-sized blanket between two bedsheets. Very uncomfortable. Worst sleeping experience in Thailand. Even in twice cheaper 900 bath hotels with small rooms the bed was much better.

This is the best hotel in Pattaya. How I know. Cos I have been going to this hotel for 12 years. And you know what give it 4 star 1 star or no stars. Goodbye you unhappy people. I only care about my self and I know that I will be back at this hotel in a limo, spaceship. Cos I know the staff of this hotel love me more than a customer. I am friend with this hotel and I love flipper lodge and hope the swimming pool is done next month. Best hotel in Pattaya. by far... 5 star 10 star

Room Tip: room 408, good shower

I have stayed here a number of times. It is very close to everything, the beach, shopping, and night life, many many places to go. The staff are very nice and very helpful people and with swimming pool on top of Hotel you get a good and fantastic view over the city and out to the sea just beautiful. I would return again and I hope to do this December.

Room Tip: get room in back end of hotel

I stayed here in the Superior seaside room in May 2012. Although the hotel was undergoing renovation, disruption was kept to a minimum. The swimming pool was closed, and we were allowed to lounge out int the sister hotel (Flipper House) located a short work in Soi 7).

So it's quite difficult to review when a hotel is undergoing renovation, but at the time, i would say the room/hotel was/is a little dated and needs renovation !!!

Seriously though, The staff are very pleasant. Internet wi-fi worked a bit hit n miss. and when connection was lost for a day and a half, i didnt get my money back, but the staff did allow me to use their computer wired connection.

The location is right near the beach, and in my Superior Seaview room, i could happily wach all going on on Beach Road. The room itself was very dated but had (noisy) aircon, fridge/minibar. No in room safe im afraid, but safety deposit box at reception.

If you are a quiet couple or family, i would NOT recommend you to stay here. But a solo traveler or young party person will like. It is situated in the heart of the action - Soi 8. If you are a male, you will get catcalls from the bar-girls the moment you step out of the hotel !

Nice to be able to bring a guest home too - no problems there.

so all in all - hotel is so-so. Not the greatest, but not the most expensive either. But in it's current state, i would stay somewhere else.

The rooms are of a big size and have that musky smell to them, The hotel is simple and very basic and needs updating. If you wanna be by the bars beach this is for you if you dont mind the old tv furniture etc
