While on our way to Kho Larn a friend and I decided to stop in Pattaya for the night to see what the place was all about. We researched hostels and hotels and saw that Asia Backpackers had great reviews, so we booked.
We had an easy and friendly check in, other than the fact that the double bed room we booked was no longer available so we were put into a dorm room on the top floor. As we walked up the stairs the entire place was FILTHY. Screens falling off Windows, trash everywhere, a HUGE pile of dirty sheets and blankets thrown into a corner, the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.
Either way, we continued on to the dorm. When we walked in we were both shocked at the state that Asia Backpackers allowed their guests to stay in. The sheets, pillows and walls all had stains on them. Bugs and trash were on the beds. The bathrooms were so dirty we couldn't even bring ourselves to shower. We ended up asking for new blankets and we received them, but the new "clean blankets" were again, covered in stains. The woman who helped us was nice and forwarded us on to her boss to express our complaints.
He explained to us that the girls before us had "female issues" and that the room was currently unavailable. I'm sorry, but if this is the excuse...While on our way to Kho Larn a friend and I decided to stop in Pattaya for the night to see what the place was all about. I'm sorry, but if this is the excuse you're going to use then, girls had "female issues" all over all of your sheets. Will never book or recommend Asia Backpackers. Also, thanks for the free drinks, we needed them to stay at that place. More
