“ENJOYED MY VISIT”

Pattaya Elephant Village
Ranked #30 of 141 things to do in Pattaya
Attraction details
Reviewed June 19, 2013

About 2008 i visited the ELEPHANT VILLAGE with a friend who lived in PATTAYA. We saw the
elephants perform their acts and were pleased with the variety of elephant skills and beauty of large elephants. We took a short trek that was fun as we had never been on an elephant before.
I would recommend this attraction that is not far to the center of PATTAYA.

Everyday those animals have to work and work and work till they died. It was my first time riding elephant and it was awesome. However, the route that they travelled is so dirty and not even that the elephant have to shun from the faeces on the ground. It stinks.

We had looked forward to going to the Elephant Trekking/Thai silk farm but were very disappointed. The elephant trek was ok but the walk on the whole was through an open wasteland with lots of litter and very little else. The elephant performed various little tricks during the journey which were sweet and the elephant keeper was very kind to the animal. However, we felt very pressured into purchasing a framed photograph and a DVD of the trip at very inflated prices when we got back to the village. We did not get to see the Thai silk factory although we had paid for it. The people running the trekking centre also asked us for money which was very off putting. We came away feeling sorry for the animals and concerned for their overall welfare. We would not recommend this trip to anyone it was a rip off. Oh and the DVD was in black and white when we tried it on our return to the UK.

Its living with elephants. How they move logs, how they take shower, and I was lucky to see the birth of a baby elephant too. I visited around April 2008 (during Songkran).

very disappointing. Expensive, dirty, horrible. Save your money and go to Singapore instead. Thailand is really poor. Dirty place.
