“A good place to relax in the morning-afternoon”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

This beach is huge, so you can find what you like there: you can stay in a more crouded place on the deck chair (30-40 bht/day) with lots of drinks and snacks, manicure, pedicure, massage, fake tatoos etc. Thai people will come directly to your chair to offer you things to buy (they usually adress you directly in Russian, since the majority of tourists occupying the beach are Russian). This might be a little bit annoying if you want to read a book whole day under the umbrella and not being distructed. Or you can go further from the center of the beach, where there are less people, and less sellers.

On the day we stayed the beach was very clean and the water was nice. Some people complain about lady-boys, and fat foreigners walking hand-in-hand with tiny Thai women, but I didn't see any..

In general, this is a nice place to spend morning-afternoon relaxing under the sun, with a tasty fruit shake and a favorite book.

“Enjoyable & has much to offer”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

The first thing to realise is that Jomtien Beach is HUGE and you can generally find whatever you want - if you look for it.

The majority of the beach is covered with deck chairs and umbrellas - which is just as well given the heat at the sun and, renting a deckchair and relaxing, you can certainly enjoy the day. The beach vendors can provide everything you want - from deckchairs, towels, drinks and, of course, a wide variety of food. With the abundance of chairs and umbrellas, not much beach is left - only a narrow strip above the water line, which is even narrower at high tide. The water is pleasant though, although, at times, it can be a bit dirty. This seems to depend on the time of day, currents, etc.

If you want less people around, if you take a walk in a southerly direction you will find a few smaller beaches and coves which are a lot less populated and quieter. and has less beach hawkers, but, of course, you don't have the convenience of being able to order what you want at whim, but it's really up to what you enjoy.

“Good alternative.”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

In my personal opinion Jomtien Beach is the most beautiful beach of Pattaya, a place different from the other city beaches. I am sure you will enjoy it right away, in fact it is almost entirely pedestrian area, and walking along the long boardwalk you will see restaurants, pubs and hotels.
A very lively area and a bit far away from the chaos of the city.

Agreat beach, far better than Pattayas beach. You can sit here ALL day, and want fr nothing. Its extreamly clean and cared for. You might get fed up of the vendors trying to sell you things, but dont forget, theyre only trying to earn a living wage. If you dont want to buy from them, just say, MAI OW KAH, which means, NO THANK YOU. There are a few disabled beggars too, which u will see everywhere, not just on the beach. Be kind, and give them 10 baht, they will bless u fr it, and dont frget, theres NO government help there, so were very lucky. The beach sellers can supply u with most things, but learn to haggle. The manicures, pedicures, are fantastic, and well worth the 200 baht each procedure, fr which ude pay a fortune fr at home. GREAT watersports, but be careful who you choose fr these pursuits, as there are some dodgy ones who will say uve damaged their jet skis, and then demand u pay BIG money.Weve ALWAYS gone to Noy and his familys deck chair, water ski, boat hire, area, which is just after the first bus/taxi stop on jomtiem bch, coming frm pattaya. Weve ALWAYS bn looked after.

“Come here for the best day-time cruising, not the beach.”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This place is an enigma it itself. While the beauty of the Gulf is set magnificently in front of you, it merely becomes a backdrop for all things cheesy - the lady boys clad in skimpy swim outfits doing runway modeling up and down the beach, their big fat, bald, old Western men ogling over them, beach vendors selling all kinds of wares and 'services' (e.g.,massage, pedicure, manicure), wall-to-wall sun umbrellas with barely any room to move around, to name a few. This is a genuine day-time circus at its best. And you get to see all the characters - in the raw, without makeup or funny hair-dos. And what you see is what you get. Come here for the best day-time cruising. And not for the beach. Rent one of the chairs, order your Singha beer and pad-thai noodles. Sit back and relax. Enjoy the show. Note: This is _definitely_ not the hang out for families with young children. Go further north for that.
