“Best beach in pattaya.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

It's best beach that pattaya has got to offer. A nice beach to go for a walk or rent a chair and sit back with a drink. It's much cleaner than pattaya beach. It's less crowded than pattaya beach. Good for water sports, the water is less polluted than pattaya beach. You can spent a relaxing half a day at this beach, swimming, they offer changing rooms, showers and towels in the beach shack. Or just chilling on one of the chairs with a drink watching the sea or reading a book.

“Best beach area in Pattaya - cleaner and more sandy areas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

You can grab a soltel truck ride for 10 baht per person at the police box. When you arrive, Dongtan beach is to the left (such as in front of Avalon). Gay friendly beaches - you rent a chair and they supply you with everything. You can purchase drinks and food (best chicken rice I had). To the left is Jomtien - this area is quieter and more residential than the touristy and smaller Pattaya beach in the North.

“Dirty and smelly”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

Not what I expected from Jomtien Beach (near to Pattaya). I didn`t expect so much old fat male tourists walking around - hand in hand - with tiny Thai girls... some of them I should guess underaged, but I was told otherwise..
The beach is left very narrow (only a couple of meters) by millions of chairs and sun-beds and is a bit dirty and very smelly..
I shall allow 2 stars out of 5 as they did not succeed in spoiling the good weather, sunshine and nice sea-temperature :-)
If you are planning to visit Thailand - stay some other place

The entire Jomtien area seemed to be filled with Russians. Nothing great. Gets pretty empty by sunset. Water is clean and if you're looking for just a relaxing day at the beach then i highly recommend this place. As with any beach in Thailand, people will offer to sell you massages/beer/food and loads of other things. Way better than the Pattaya beach though. But this is a little far from Beach road/second road and that area. Take a tuk tuk or motorbike taxi early morning and spend time till 4/5pm and then head back to the city.

“By far the best beach in Pattaya”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Jomtien is more up-market and quieter, and so is the beach, which is at least cleaner than Pattaya beach. If your hotel is in Jomtien, it's fine, but it's about fifteen-twenty minutes tuk-tuk ride from central Pattaya shopping malls.

Plenty of restaurants along the beach road, but still hassle from beach vendors if you're looking for a quiet siesta slumped in a deck-chair. Again, no changing facilities on the beach or promenade, but there are one or two across the other side of beach road.
