Breath taking wooden temple. Really expensive entrance fee in Thailand. They say they need money to continue building.
Beautiful wooden sculptures and engravings are covered everywhere. They built columns with plane wood and now they are engraving on the surfaces of columns. Walls, ceilings, doors, outside, on the roof...everywhere.
This temple located near sea, views are great, too. Many people hesitate because fee is so expensive, and also temple itself is just very new, under construction. But I satisfied after tour. Tourists can take picture anywhere inside or outside. There was one guy who told us how it was built and how it's going on.
All building materials are wood, so they need to take care more keeping good condition. Some parts of wooden sculptures are color changed, cracked already. It can be deteriorated and ruined before completion.

Onshore excursion today took us to this beautiful wooden building. Completely carved by hand, majority of that done by women, for very minimal pay. Was started years ago and they don't expect to be done for another 25 years! Construction hats, therefore, are de rigeur. Our guide was very informative but with a strong accent at times hard to understand. There is not a nail to be found in this building. It is all dove-tailing and other manners of holding wood together without nails. A carpenters dream. Once outside there were elephants to feed. They love bananas as well as cages with various wildlife. Thoroughly enjoyed the trek. There is also a refreshment area as well as toilet facilities. The Sanctuary is a definitely must see.

I had no idea about this construction. It is still going on, and a date for completion is difficult to get. One of the most impressive wooden buildings I have ever visited. Be sure to visit it!
