Try to get there before the sun sets...the sunset light reflects perfectly in this magnificent replica of ancient art. not a single nail is used in this building.

Me and my boyfriend did the elephant tour around the sanctuary and then explored the sanctuary itself. It cost us 750 baht each, however if you do not want to ride the elephant it is 500 pp. however we would recommend the elephant, it is great. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful and the sanctuary is just a beautiful creation, however they are still doing construction on some part which means you are required to wear or carry a hard hat in the temple. Girls must wear a sarong if their clothing is above the knee. You just make a deposit and get it back when you bring the sarong back. Places to eat and drink and we got a private car into Pattaya city from the staff for 250 baht. All in all a good day out.

This was without a doubt one of the highlights of my holiday to Thailand. I decided to take the full package with a ride around on an elephant and then exploring the Sanctuary by foot, photos taken then relaxing with a foot massage before ascending back to the top. The experience cannot honestly be described, you really have to see this for yourself. There is restoration going on and you see men carving by hand, the details on the exterior and interior are the most detailed and intricate I have ever seen in my life. If you visit Pattaya you must visit the Sanctuary of Truth!
