Cafe Ritz may have had to change its name to Cafe John, but it every bit as good as ever!
The food and service are outstanding and provide the best value for money among the nearly 1,000 restaurants in and around Pattaya.
The three-course table d'hote menu is superb with a choice of 20 to 30 starters, just as many main courses and sweets.
There is an a la carte menu but why bother with it when there is such a great choice at a fixed low price!
Where else will you get a three-course European menu for Bahts 395 per person. The glasses of house wine are at room temperature, large and not expensive!
This dinner that will be difficult to beat for quality and value for money!

I am a regular at Cafe Ritz and that includes Sundays. Today, having driven nearly one hour for my regular Sunday meal, what do I find. A notice saying, Closed on Sundays. Its unforgivable to treat regular Sunday customers like this. I would not bother with Cafe Ritz or what they now call themselves Cafe John.

Service is great, food is fantastic value, extremely quiet atmosphere.
Comprehensive menu.
Starter we chose - smoked salmon - very good.
No sirloin steak available so we had delicious fillet instead, together with a mound of potatoes and veg. The puddings - wife had sherry trifle which looked average but she enjoyed it. I had crumble with cream and ice cream which was scrumptious
So the food and service were great. The place is quite small and the atmosphere is very quiet which suits me but maybe not up to everyone's taste. We will definitely return on a regular basis.

I do not know why they have changed the name from Cafe Ritz to Cafe John. It seems totally illogical but I am glad that they have not changed, what is essence is an excellent choice for English cuisine.

Last night, the Roast Lamb was very good but next time, I am definitely going to try the Salmon.

The other thing they have not changed is the price and I think, that is a very shrewd move. It encourages diners to return on a regular basis. I know other restaurants that have "hiked" their prices and the regulars are no more.

For a fixed price, the 3 course menu offers a wide choice of dishes and I can highly recommend it.

Please remember that it's now officially called Cafe John, but its still known to all of the regulars as the Cafe Ritz. You may have trouble finding it too as its at the bottom end of the Jomtien Complex out near Jomtien Beach.
The food and service remains as good as ever and the price has not changed with their three-course table d'hote menu costing just Bahts 395, - under UK£10 - or US$12.-.
There are about 20 starters, 20 main courses and the same number of sweet courses on this menu.
I'm happy with their giant prawn salad which is an entire meal on its own, but their fish, checken and meat dishes are equally good!
The important thing is to leave space for the sweet courses! I can understand why some people eat there every night of the week!
