We went to this hotel as part of a package for 3 nights. We were told it was a 4 star hotel. Well used live in Thailand and traveled to all corners. No, this was not a 4 star hotel, not even a 2 star.

Check in was quick. The lobby had been renovated - looked modern. Once you go beyond that you would see Old, Dated written everywhere. Carpet was old, corridor smelled of cigarette smoke. They still had lock and keys for the rooms. Bathroom had mold. Fortunately, we didnt spend much time in the hotel. Spent most of our time exploring Pattaya (which btw looks a lot like a Russian resort town - full of Russian people, food, signs).

On the 2nd night, we asked for extra pillows. In the morning we found bed bugs. this was a first for me after all these years of traveling in Asia, Europe and USA. Complained to the front desk and asked them to change the room. They agreed. But when we came back to the room late at night we found they didnt keep their word. The lady who spoke good english
said it there wont be any more bed bugs that they cleaned it well, bugs came from the pillow etc. We were upset. But the room looked ok and didnt have the energy or time to move to another one.

The price included breakfast, as is the norm in Asia. Buffet had good variety.
We saw a lot of Indian and Russian tourists in the hotel. It was a convenient thing to buy card from the front desk to use Wi-Fi. Calls to mobile phones were expensive. International calls were more so. We don't smoke, so it was not a good thing to see guests smoking everywhere - corridor, outside, even in the dining hall.

We did appreciate what the hotel did for us - made a love sign out of rose petals on the bed.
The staff was helpful. Not everyone speaks English well. We didn't use the swimming pool because of smokers all around. I would not stay in this hotel again.
