Not why I went and stayed at the Marriott Resort and Spa but I have to start off by saying the whole staff at the resort were a treat to see and converse with everyday. Most notably was one of the front desk staff Napawan (great customer service) and her boss, Naiyana.

I stayed 2 different weeks with one in Jan 09' and March 09'. The Sea view rooms are a treat and are fully refurbished with great in room facilities such as flat screen TV's, CD stereo's, great beds, desk space, in room safe, well stocked min bar, iron, umbrella, robes, slippers, large towels I wanted to take home and new bathrooms.

The hotel itself is an oasis within the confines of a crazy Pattaya. There is not a better location if you want to be close to all the action wether it be the restaurants, shopping, bars and nightlife but then have any easy walk back to your hotel for the tranquility one may need at times especially the oasis of the large swimming pool which seems so out of place with all its tropical palm trees, pet parrots and great waiting staff to take care of all your needs. Also part of the hotel is the spa and fitness facilitis. The fitness facilities rival any other in Pattaya with a great workout room, aerobics room and the ability to go to the lounge at anytime of the nomal day and have free coffee, cappaccinos, fresh fruit and free wifi.

Great choice for a hotel in Pattaya.

I stayed in a Terrace Suite room , which opens directly onto the garden and pool area. It had it's own private deck which was great for having breakfast on, or drinks in the evening. A huge King bed, flat screen TV with a DVD/CD player and surround sound system made up the main room. Sliding doors led to a huge bathroom with a very large stone bathtub, his and her sinks and a nice tall shower seperate from the tub.

My suite was very close to the small Beach Road entrance, which was convenient for exploring Pattaya's interesting night life.

A nice gym is avaikable to guests, and a spa which charges western prices for sevices that you can get anywhere else in Pattaya for a fraction of the price

Around the clock room service, a gigantic pool and sun area. All this made for a great vacation.

Nice lobby, nice pool and that's all. Even poll is not so good because it has very few hours of sun because the main building is so high. Rooms are ok, bathrooms are terrible, very old and small. For price they are charging there are at least 10 better hotels in Pattaya.
Very boring hotel...

We decided to stay at the Marriott having trawled up and down Pattaya to find a place where we could really treat ourselves. We were all too aware of Marriott as a "brand" so decided to try it out. Walking off the street and booking a room was obviously likely to be a costly experience - but it wasn't peak season and I suspected most of the Hotels were operating at a 60 per cent capacity.

The reception staffs were all too happy to show us the rooms on offer and in the end we settled for a suite.

The suite was amazing, little touches like the granite free-standing bath, the walk-in shower the openness of the room, the cappuccino maker were beautiful and pleasant.

The pool was a stones throw away and the staffs were more than happy to assist in any way possible.

The Reception Manager deserves a special mention. She is definitely a "people person" and it’s easy to see why she is a Manager.

Everything about the Marriot is spot-on. I would certainly return there.

A fabulous hotel in the middle of an interesting if floored place. Its a clean, modern, quiet hotel with extremely friendly staff.

I'd never been to Thailand before and wouldn't choose to go to Pattaya again but staying in the Marriott made it worth while. After the noise, chaos and questionable morals of Walking Street, it was so nice to go back into the hotel gardens and relax

The room was big and clean with a great balcony overlooking the pool. Free water each day. It was our 10th anniversary and we had mentioned this when we booked. When we arrived we were surprised to find a lovely cake and rose petals on the bed. Very sweet.

Only complaints would be that the cocktails were shocking (No 4 star hotel should ever make cocktails from mixes. They really should be made from scratch) and that on one day, a group of males sat at the pool bar all day getting drunker and louder and I would expect the hotel manager to have a quiet word at some point but they didn't.

We stayed at The Pattaya Marriott for 3 nights. The Marriott is a nice oasis in the middle of the insanity that is Pattaya.

The PROS:
-The executive club in the lobby had free internet access, free breakfast (the staff saw us and remembered what we wanted and ordered it when we walked in) and a big selection of appetizers in the evening. There was also a good selection of free alcohol in the evenings

-The spa was great! The thought of having massages on the street made me uncomfortable so my husband and I booked multiple treatments in the Marriott spa. By thai standards they were expensive (2 couples massages, reflexology, mani and pedi were about 300$) but much cheaper than what I am used to paying. The staff was professional and the gym was also nice.

-There are always security guards to monitor the elevators so you always felt secure in the room

-If you dont want a heavy meal there are multiple restaurants and coffee shops (including a KFC) in the shopping center attached to the hotel

-Most of Pattaya is within walking distance from the Marriott

THE CONS:

-The pool and beach were ok, overall there are nicer beaches and pools all over thailand, I would not come to pattaya to go to the beach

-The room was just OK, no view and alot of traffic noise on the street side

If you are in Pattaya I would not hesitate to stay at the Marriott, but as a vacation destination there are nicer towns in Thailand than Pattaya.

Good location, has its own pool and the beach is easily reached through the rear of the hotel. Very good service, nice breakfast but no lunch or dinner, which isn't a problem really as there are many restaurants. Room was simple but tastefully decorated.Lovely hotel in a brash town!
