This place makes me want to move to Pattaya!
Great menu selection. I had the small john dory and homemade chips (really huge chips and decent portion). This was 120 baht (in Bangkok it would be at least 300) They had a great selection of other fish and other sides (mushy peas etc etc). Not to mention a lot of other western food and local stuff! The place is really nice for its type; i was surprised to see table cloths. The staff was fine. Location seemed pretty good, not too far from the beach.

The Jolly Friar in Pattaya provides some of the best fish and chips to be found anywhere. Their Pacific Dory is eual to the best Atlantic sole or haddock.
Now a new branch at Jomtien has opened and changed its name to the Golden Friar. This is just off the main street near to the Police Box at the bottom of the main road to Jomtien Beach.
It serves exactly the same menu with fish and chips from Bahts 100 - just over £2 per person.
It has the full range of fish dishes and side orders including mushy peas, garden peas and beans. Also the selection of frshly made chicken and mushroom pies, mince and onion pies,
plus Thai dishes.
The menu here is in both English and Russian and cleverly laid out with seperate pages in each language. The service is fast with dishes cooked to order. Excellent value for money and all visitors have to do is look for the illuminate 'Fish & Chips' sign on the main street.

Stopped in on the outlet at Jomtien last week. Apart from the building work outside...dust and noise...the place was immaculate and reasonably quiet.

Menu the same as the one in Soi Lenki, with added Russian fayre. service was attentive, they even popped outside to get us a Som Tam from the lady in the lane. One thing we missed was the local paper to ponder through whilst waiting for our meals.

Have ate jolly friar twice and i dont understand why the other to comments are bad.

The food was lovely a small portion of fish and chips = 100 baht soo cheap and its enough for two people. the large one is huge and at only 160 baht for the meal that can easily be shared among two.

Spent 300 baht on one small fish and chips and one large wit mushy peas and the food was excellent. also gave plenty of salt and vinegar.

recommend you take out as haven't experienced restaurant. MUST TRY.
