This owner-managed restaurant has been around since 1978 and is a well-hidden gem.
The extensive menu has lots of innovative as well as traditional Thai dishes, mostly cooked to order one supposes, judging by the longish wait. Whatever the case, with the nice ambiance of the restaurant and a drink or two, relaxation reigned and tempus fugit.
After a very enjoyable dinner at Somsakdi's, we had lunch there on our last day of our holidy which seemed a very fitting way to round off a very enjoyable stay in Thailand, knowing as we did the bland food that awaited us on the long flight home to Europe. For lunch we were entertained by chatter of birds in the aviary which were audible because of quiet backstreet location though just a hundred or so meters from Pattaya North Beach.
A few words of caution - some dishes are extremely spicy so maybe it is wise to enquire before ordering!
