“Excellent hidden gem!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Wow! That is the one word for this restaurant. Yes, it was a bit difficult to find but it was so totally worth it! Beautiful, very French atmosphere, amazing service and very good food. What else do you need in a restaurant? Absolutely loved the Quiche Lorraine and the 5 Hour Lamb!
Though I have to warn you, it is not a place for kids unless they are very well behaved.

“it is french and stays french....”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

If you go through the reviews you will see some people complaining about the location ... difficult to find.... impossible to book.....i would say somehow you must deserve it ... I saw also some professional complainers who never happy and never find a descend place in pattaya to get a descent dinner at a fair price ... I know Jose for years .... you will love him and you will hate him ....
but one thing is sure he fights every day to serve you the best products available.... he gives hard times to suppliers....together with his wife Khun Pee who is running the kitchen they are trying to please the customers ... and if sometimes a dish is not matching your expectations just tell them they will be change it ....

yes i love the place ,,, yes it is one of my favorite place in Pattaya .... i am now station out of Thailand ... but every time I am back I am visiting the place... and i am really enjoying my time ... don t missed the foie gras panfried as starter as well as the homemade pates and rillettes . meats are cooked to perfection .... fishes are very fresh delivered daily from the market ... wine selection is just brilliant fairly priced.... the cheeses are excellent .... and don t ignore the desserts creme brulee is perfect... the profiteroles are cosmic .... definitively it's worth the visit ... they have also open in the garden a small shop ... stop by before leaving the area and buy some of their signatures dishes available to take away. it will help to stuff your fridge and make your week much more enjoyable
just make sure to book ... it is impossible to get a table on walking .. and make sure to find your way because they will not keep your table if you are late ....
latest advice ... if you are not a french food lover better pass your way .... you will lose your time ..... by the way they are closed on tuesday and thursday ... too bad

“Superb if you can find it”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

I have been eating here for 15 years or more first on Soi 5 beach road and latterly at it's new location. You need to research how to get there if you plan to eat as it is well hidden off the beaten track.

The ambience and service is fantastic and Jose the owner is quite a character.

However, the main reason for a visit is the food which is top class. I have never been presented with any dish less than perfect EVER.

This time we had Venison stew, beef bourgignon, pork tenderloin and beef skewer followed by profiteroles, chocolate mousse and the cheese plate which is good a selection of cheeses as you will see anywhere in the world.

All this in perfect surroundings along with 4 50 cl carafes of good wine came to 125 quid.

Au Bon Coin is a must for us every time we visit Pattaya.

“French being French”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Au Bon Coin has been in Pattaya for as long as I can remember this is its second home and it is a little difficult to find but when you do find it it is worth the time trying, the food is first class the place is typically French, I went with my wife and for started I had home cooked Tong it was very interesting, then for main I had smoked haddock it just melted in my mouth (perfect) and my wife had confit of duck which was served with mash potatoes the whole meal would take some beating. You must book a table don't just go on spec as you would not get a table.
