We wanted to go there many times and seen the "Up's and Down's" on tripadvisor but we know that a eatery does not need to be "good" or "bad" based on reviews ....we know how the "cookie crumbles" and the only way to find out is...to go there!
Therefore we can now state our experience and it was not good! We already know that we did not go there for the location because it is bad so we do not judge the Natan's on that too much. However we must say it is a very very busy and polluted location hence not at all cozy nor romantic or in particular good for your in-take of fresh air. We actually always prefer seaside eateries with ocean views and breez but sometimes we of course go "off course"! I do not really know how to describe Natan's but best would be "another converted shophouses" run by a "Restauranteur a la minute"! The service was ok but not really attentive for such a relative small restaurant and we often needed to get the attention of the service staff.
Now the food... Not sure what it is but best to describe is a "Maggie studio" where powder sauces dominate the skills of the master in the kitchen. The beef should have been imported as per menu but we are very doubtful of that as we had a tenderloin with tendons running throughout the rather small steak which of course made it a "bad" main course. We are steak lovers and seafood lovers but both opted for the steak this time hence we cannot judge the seafood.
The ambiance we believe is a real mix of ....? Not sure what to write about the decor because it is a real mix of a mix...maybe this describes it best (tables are also too close to each other). So...all in all not a place for us and we cannot recommend. However we are sure some people like it and the reviews do suggest this.
