“A floating man made market”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

It's a great concept if it was real - this is an artificial floating market quite run down in most places and crowded - a typical tourist hot spot. There are no bargains here since they will not accept haggles on the already high prices. The products you get is what you get in all tourist spots, woodenware, soaps, incense..etc etc. We took a ride on the boat to the far end of the market and walked back amongst the maze of walk ways.

I can still see it being attractive for foreigners. I don't understand why everyone wants to make money out of tourists (non-thai's) , once they know they will immediately double the price or more making the things you buy the same price as being imported back home.?

Becareful when walking on the wood when it's raining - one slip you might fall in because there are no railings! Watch your kids.

“Good for sightseeing”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

It is not the original floating market but famous and I want to visit it because I didn't have time to visit the real floating market in Bangkok and Running man (variety show from south Korea) had been here. l tried crocs SAtay that Yoo Jae Suk had tried too and found the seller can speak Indonesian little bit- She said " sate buaya .... enak, enak!"
nice experience but had to pay 200 baht to come inside.

Dont miss to buy snacks for 20 baht each in Okay 20 shop inside this floating market.

“depends what u expect”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

there was supposed to be a bus that ran out there but apparently it has been cancelled now. 900bt entry included a boat ride or 200bt general entry.

Not many boats were seen on the water but not surprising at this price. Got a map but was hard to follow and a lot of things on it were not open anymore.

Wandered around the shops and was surprised that a lot were quite reasonably priced if u looked around. I could of wandered around all day and people watched but teenagers soon got bored.

The baht buses waiting outside were charging 300bt to get back to Pattaya double what we paid to get there...

“Worth seeing,”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We hired a tuk tuk for five hours and asked the driver to take us to places we had not been to on our previous trips to Pattaya. The floating market was just a man made pond nowhere as good as the original in Bangkok.
It was still interesting though but very commercial. It was 200 baht entry fee which I wrongfully assumed included a short boat ride but no, that was an additional fee which was not mentioned on entry.
We bought some small gifts for friends, cheap sunglasses and got some great photos. Had our feet nibbled in a tank which was an experience in itself lol.
Worth seeing but once was enough :)

“The floating money scam!”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

I've been to the floating market many times and it was free. Now they try to charge you 200 baht just to enter a place to spend money in their shops!!!If you are with a Thai person and you have a Thai driving licence with you then it is free,however.....they didn't tell me this and still charged me 200 baht entrance.I've lived in Pattaya for two years now and cant believe how they treat you sometimes!!!A complete rip off. LAND OF SMILES???????
