“Good to see it!”

I have been there few days ago and I was a little bit sad that it is not free (it was free a few month ago), but I also recommend to see this place! You can find and buy there many interesting things, enjoy good food ( for example crocodile meat) and see a show or sail on boat among the shops.

You pay 200 baht to walk round houses on stilts, surrounded by coffee coloured water, which sell tack. It is definitely an experience. But very disappointing. There are some stalls that sell some craft items, but you would be better going to street stalls

“Dont GO! Visit elsewhere”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

First impressions was a nice small market built on a swamp.
But you soon realise that it smells really bad. Access is terrible i wouldnt take small children or anyone with mobility problems the rickety old woodenwalkways have no protection from the swamp. Our tour guide was good but i felt the stalls were just replicated ten fold all selling same goods. The thais working there i felt were very rude shouting at our tour guide and making jokes of some of our group i speak a little thai and the remarks made were not nice. It has to be said by a small minority. Maybe a cultural thing but made some of the elderly members uneasy and wanted to leave. I have always been greeted warmly by thai people but was shocked at the way our tour group was treated, maybe because we were forigners or as stated just a rude minority in this particular market. i have no idea but wouldnt return if you paid me!!!

“How something very nice can be totally ruined”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Visited it when it was first opened because this landlord had given free rent to the shopkeepers to establish them in this "swampy" location accessible between Sukumvit and the railroad service road behind it. It was absolutely wonderful then even though a thoughtful traveler could find little to buy. The architectural style of the houses vary by region (as the products were to) and the feel of the place was very serene. Two years elapse and I visit again to find every possible artery clogged by tourist bus and cars. The buildings and walkways are suffering from premature wear and tear but the outdoor foods remain tasty. Not a single vendor from the beginning could I identify and all things look like someplace else. That "else" is somewhere I would not visit again.
