I had the studio premiere room which I booked online through agoda for a little under 80 dollars per night (a significant savings but one has to pre-pay the entire stay, and there are no refunds given for cancellations).
I was given a room on the 5th floor at the farthest north end of the building (6th floor is a small gym as well as sun lounge area). For the price I paid the suite was well worth the money, except for the view as my balcony faced straight onto the adjacent building's white wall. The bed is firm but not uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful at all hours of the night. Overall for what I paid I thought it was a good value, with a convenient location to all of the city hot spots.
The Good:
- For the discount I received through agoda, felt the suite was a great value. Good size, comfortable bed, hardwood floors, bathtub/shower, LCD t.v.
- Good location close to city hot spots. About 400 meters from entrance to Walking Street, right next to Royal Garden Plaza. Can also take the baht buses around the city.
- Did not experience any issues with noise at night. In fact this was one of the quietest rooms/hotels I've ever stayed at. Outside of the occasional sounds of guests walking to their rooms, nothing ever woke me up or kept me up at night. Outside of the occasional sounds of guests walking to their rooms, nothing ever woke me up or kept me up at night. Not sure if being on the fifth floor made a difference or I was just lucky.
- Requested a non-smoking and my room did not smell of smoke (another reviewer stated there were no non-smoking rooms in this hotel).
- Being on the highest 5th floor, did not experience any issues with the air conditioner keeping the room cool. It will take a few minutes to cool down upon starting but will maintain the temperature fine (the room power goes off once you take the keycard and leave the room).
- No "fees" for guests (though there is a charge for a third party).
- Free wi-fi.
- Room safe.
The Bad:
- Wi-fi signal is exceptionally slow. One test produced a result of result of 1.04 mbps download and 1.25 mbps upload speeds. Checking e-mails and the like is fine, but watching videos on youtube is a painful chore. Also, you have to request a new user name/password each day as it resets.
- In order to get the big room price discount, you have to pre-pay the entire trip before hand, and there are no cancellation refunds allowed.
- Maid service was irregular. Some days they would clean before noon, other days it was closer to four in the afternoon. At times it seems like only certain items were replaced in the room (towels), but the sink/shower bathroom areas were not properly mopped/cleaned.
- Room A.C. can be slightly noisy, and you'll have to raise the t.v. volume up a notch. This being Pattaya, you'll have to leave the A.C. on whenever you are in the room.More
