“whatever you do dont stay there”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

I stayed at the Diana inn 2 years ago and it was ok, rooms nothing special and paid 900 baht per night and for the same rooms now they want 1800 baht. Unfortunatley I was booked in at the old wing and for 7 nights had an horrendous experience. Where do I start, shower was broken, dirty brown water coming out of taps ,cockroaches in room, tv hopeless no signal, dirty run down rooms. So you may ask did I just sit back and accept ,no I went to complain many times ,asked to see the owner who refused to speak to me as he well knew how bad these rooms are.
The staff apologise but acknowledge that this place is terrible .This hotel has been taken over by Boss Suites and run by Indians. Do yourself a massive favour and don't stay there.

Room Tip: We are now staying at Chantong House just up the road and its cheaper and modern ,many times better...

I've stayed at the Diana Inn (now Boss Suites) several times, but I won't again. First, they have a wonderful pool and the breakfast buffet is wonderful. Now the bad. There are several beer bars across the soi that play music, loudly, until 4:00 AM. This affects the rooms by the pool and the back part of the main section. I moved the next day to a front room that was clean but dark and depressing.

They have new ownership who I hope will make the investment to bring this hotel back. However, the local businessmen said they think the hotel will be sold for the property value soon.

They have a great location, but I can't recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here.

The Diana Inn Pattaya is in my view the best budget place to stay, the rooms a are big and cleaned daily, the house keeping staff and all staff in reception are so cheerful and friendly.
I was Given a big room with a Balcony and they did me a monthly rate of 24,000 Baht.
I find the location also to be just perfect as its on 2nd Road, but a walk to the beach is 2 minutes, away, the hotel is opposite a small shopping mall (Mikes) and small supermarkets are on your door step as well as many bars, good bars with live bands play on second road.
Also I did not find any noise to keep me awake.

This was Leg number 2 on our May 2011 trip, and our first visit to Pattaya. The Hotel is on the corner of Second Street and Soi Diana.

Pro's: The rooms were larger than expected and very clean. We had a first floor balcony room, great for washing/drying smaller clothes items. Swimming Pool was big and DEEP. Restaurant for all meals was clean and well priced. Staff very friendly and sociable. Drinks (Happy Hour) DIRT CHEAP. Breakfast was basic but there were enough choices available.

Con's: Nothing worth listing. Bar's across the road were loud until 1-2 am.

Shopping: Mikes Shopping Mall is across the road, Stalls up/down most of Second Street.
Bar's everywhere, and the night-life is all party. A MUST DO is visit Walking street at night.

Summary: Located within reach of everything. Would stay here again.

We also stayed at The Swiss Park Inn in Bangkok and the Centara Duangtawan in Chiang Mai.

In May 2013 we were recommended the Areca Lodge in Soi Diana and decided to try this one out in stead. The costs were the same and no Bar noise. Please read.

Room Tip: Travelled May 2011 NOT June 2012

Songkran 2013....It's on a slippery slope and management don't seem to care...refused first room as it had cockroaches running about...was about to walk out but was offered a better room[but still pretty bad]skirting board hanging off wall, floor starting to warp, shower mouldy.80s style tv.the main part of the hotel needs a complete refurb...breakfast very poor...had to wait for bacon to be cooked 90% of the time and breakfast is now served in the little café area at side of green bottle pub..good pool but furniture tired and dirty and the 20bht charge for an extra towel is scandalous[still using tattered pink towels that are only 1yard & 9inches long so you need 2 to stop getting burned on the plastic bathmat.]stayed here nov 2012 and on and off over the last 10 years and nothings changed[some rooms have new fridges]the music coming from soi Diana is very loud & played till 3am..i pittied those staying in the new pool wing or rooms facing soi Diana.the food & drink are decently priced and my cleaning lady was very good but otherwise a very poor stay[3 weeks] i'm afraid I won't be returning to this once great hotel which is a shame....

Room Tip: don't pay up front and be prepared to walk away...there are plenty of better hotels within 100 y...

want you to stay in pattaya city this hotel was great. Once again the place went from 3 star to 0. the famous buffet breakfast are just a joke terrible poor service poor attitude and waiter who is running around for tips. If you stay there and have breakfast you will know the guy I mean.last time I stayed in back rooms behind pool but the noise from night club below just was unbearable.Very nice staff and management and I spoke to them at length about the problems with breakfast, bad internet connection dirty rooms and while they listened and seemed interested nothning was done.very nice pool and if you are travelling alone nice to make friends around the pool. the bar inside is very good to connect with foreigners. it is very sad that management once again are looking at short term profits and no maintanence has been done for years.many better hotels for the price in same area

Room Tip: dont get good rooms at back as the music will drive you crazy until the early hours of the morning...

Following on from the review for the Maytara Hotel in Pattaya, unfortunately we decided to find another hotel just to provide us room accommodation for our departure date.

We booked into the hotel around 4pm and were leaving by taxi for bangkok airport around 9pm that evening.

The room rate for this short stay was half the price of the Maytara Hotel alm ost across the same road.

The room was acceptible and served us well to be able to rest, get organised get cleaned up and changed in advance of our trip back to Bangkok airport.

The overall standard of the hotel, bedroom, and reception was pretty average and would suspect that its popularity is down to price, location (being second road).

The reception staff were very helpful with obtaining a taxi at short notice as the one we booked failed to turn up.

So whilst no proper judgement can be made as we didnt stay sufficiently long enough our overall impression was favourable, and may consider staying there in the future as part of the overall holiday, and on that basis FAR more favourable than our overnight experience at the nautical Inn

Room Tip: An ok place for those watching their accommodation budget
