Run away! This hotel is disgusting. While walking to the front door you will notice that the majority of the inhabitants of this establishment are extremely old men and prostitutes. When we arrived at the counter the receptionist who checked us in never made eye contact and seemed very uncaring. It took a while to check in even though it appeared that none of the employees were actually doing anything.

On the way to the room my boyfriend and I noticed that the hallway carpet had giant stains everywhere and smelled atrocious.

Upon inspection of our actual room we were even more disappointed. The bed linens were horrifically stained, the balcony door didn't close and lock properly, and the room had a general icky feel to it. When my boyfriend discovered the previous occupants hair all over the bathroom floor he informed the front desk. A maid promptly came up, swept said hair into the shower and told us goodbye.

We decided we did not want to ruin our vacation being bothered with this establishment... so we quickly booked a new hotel room and left. The hotel has a no cancellation policy (probably because it is a cesspool) so we lost all the money we had paid for the three night stay. But it was worth it to get the heck out of there!

Room Tip: Don't book a room here at all.

I wish to inform all the tourist that this hotel is very very comfortable and stay is very nice. Their services are excellent and rooms are very neat and clean. But I also submit that the Room hotel is set on very busy and very noisy lower Ta Phraya Road, which connects Pattaya and Jomtien. It is nothing like the brochure. Perhaps the first warning should be the declaration, "The Rome hotel is special for men & women too. The hotel is very approachable place from Beach to hotel.

Not exactly right next to the pattaya beach but a short distance helps this place stay relatively less noisy. But rooms need a major uplift. They are dated and look ancient. One plus is the in hotel pool for those days when you just want to stay in the hotel. Breakfast buffet was extremely elaborate and tasty. Plenty of options for everyone. If pool is a must have for you then go to this place, otherwise you could check out other properties.

The Rome hotel is set on very busy and very noisy lower Ta Phraya Road, which connects Pattaya and Jomtien.

It is nothing like the brochure. Perhaps the first warning should be the declaration, "The Rome hotel is special for men."

The rooms are all higgledy piggledy and even the staff seemed confused as to what constituted a superior or deluxe. Take it from me there are no superior or deluxe rooms except in type.

The Rome claims a 'swimming pool'. It would be overcrowded with two small children standing in it. Pointing to the brochure, I asked, "Where is THIS pool - the one in the picture?". Stifled giggling from the willowy manager.

Look if you are of "That" persuasion, you might like it. You may like the deep purple and aubergine and black decor. Think poofters' funeral parlour.

Food. The "restaurant" is scattered all over the place. I did not dare to eat there.

Room Tip: Use another hotel

after a long days travelling arrived at the romeo garden hotel as soon to reception i was fronted by a receptionist talking on her mobile fone and having a good old laugh whilst checking me in !!she never looked at my once, just asked me to sign in and handed me a key which i left on the counter untill she looked at me and put her fone down and acknowledged me !!
as soon as i got checked in the girl said i had to wait 10 minutes untill they went up and opened the windows !!
when i finally went up to the 3rd floor and stepped out of the lift my heart fell , it smelt like id walked into a dirty communal toilet !! and this was as soon as i got out of the lift !!
the carpet was an absolute disgrace it was stained with urine and god knows what else for the whols length of the corridoor it smelt so bad it caught in your throat !! now i know why they told me to wait before i went in my room ! and as i was getting changed a bell boy came up witha air freshener spray for my room which was brought up even before id had time to complain about the smell to anyone so they knew there would be a complaint coming from me !!
i eventually got to my room and as soon as i oened the door the smell hit you a damp mouldy urine smell !! i didnt bother to check the room as i had to go right out and meet my friends
as they wer staying at another hotel ,i went down to reception and asked to be moved but they said i couldnt be till the morning which i agreed to as it was getting late and i had to go out.
i came back to the hotel with a very heavy heart as i knew i had to sleep in this room when i got back.
the next morning when i woke up i looed around the room and found it not to be too bad it was a very big roon with a very big double bed the sheets looked clean and it had a newish carpet down and a flat screen tv and a fridge it looked as though they had had a bash at sprucing it up.
the bathroom was clean and basic and the room had a small balcony that if i looked out of one eye and round a corner i could see the pool !!
i did go dow for breakfast but there was nothing left and what was left was congealing in the tray .so i just had a cup of tea .
i didnt go to the pool or to the bar i just wanted my 3 days stay to end as i was so dissapointed with the hotel .
the whole of my corridoor on the 3rd floor where i stayed was a disgusting mess it smelt soooo bad i suggest they rip the carpet up and tile the floor as the carpet looked and smelt as though it had been used as a toilet and the heat just made the smell worse ! at least if it happened again the floor could be mopped and cleaned up !! itlooked like the guests?? had used the corridoor as a toilet as they wer probably to drunk to make it to their rooms !!
and also a coat of paint on the walls wouls also made the place look a little cleaner as they also wer marked the full length !!
i would not tell any one to waste their money staying at the hotel the only good time i had at the romeo garden was the time i checked out !!!

Room Tip: dont waste your money stay else where !!

My wife & I & a male friend stayed 6 nights from March 2013 at this hotel. It is owned & run by a German couple & that in its self attracts the majority being German tourists so unless you can speak German it is hard to strike up a conversation in English (they seem reluctant). Never the less, we were more than happy with our own company so it really didn't bother us. The hotel is a bit out of town but the tuk tuks can get you there in about 10 minutes (10 baht). The rooms are old & the bathroom has an open shower where the whole bathroom is sprayed when showering. Our air con was on it's last legs (noisy) but our friend had a more modern quieter unit (the rat wouldn't swap). The buffet breakfast (included) was good & they did a small daily change to the menu. The staff were friendly & spoke enough English to get by. There are far better & located hotels in Pattaya, but for around $26 for a double it is hard to beat if price is a factor.

Room Tip: The pool side rooms are popular but they are exposed to the hot afternoon sun.
