“Bad hotel”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2010

This hotel was not up to the middle mark also.
This is one of the worst hotel stay's I had. First there was no proper restaurant.
No electricity from 10-12 in morning, hence no water.
Room was supposed to have a kitchen. They only had microwave , that too of 10000BC old model . No utensils, no adequate amount of water for drinking , we had to buy everyday.

I had to wait for the room to emptied for 2 hours that too after an international travel . It was bad.

The best part was the location between Jomtein Beach and the Main Pattaya 1st and 2nd road.

The other best part was the good English speaking travel assistance (supposedly Indian origin) who was doing all the reception job too...

Pattaya and Jomtien beach are minutes away. The place is simply the best location for views of the coast line and the city while the beaches, nightlife and shopping malls are within easy reach. Rooms of a good standard and all staff were helpful and friendly at all times. Worth your money.

I needed Wifi in the room, and when I asked prior to booking, was told there was Wifi throughout the building. A complete lie -- upon arrival I was told there has never been Wifi anywhere except in the lobby. Staff couldn't be bothered about any of my problems, didn't even apologize for the misunderstanding, and didn't show any interest at all in trying to help. There were frequent power outages which caused their lobby Wifi to go down for long periods, sometimes even the rest of the day. Of course they would not consider a partial refund of the Internet fee even though it was down several times. Fitness center is a complete joke. Staff were unfriendly the whole time, simply couldn't be bothered with helping guests.

Hi,
We stayed here six days during end of sept 2009. Its a good hotel having great access to most of the resources of pattaya like walking street etc. More over it was worth the money we paid for. We took 2BR suites and superior rooms. Both where equally good for the money and location. We got the sea view room for the 2BR suite which was awesome. The service was also great. They also do have a roof top restaurant, which you should never miss, it has an awesome view. And the food was also excellent.
NB: All rooms are not good, you need to check / take a look before you check-in.

Thanks.

When we arrived at Pattaya Hill Resort we approached the reception desk which faced you as you walked up the stairs only to be told to go to another desk in the foyer because we were time-share guests. It was grotty and and more reminiscent of a general office rather than a hotel reception. There we found the staff were quite rude and and not very helpful with our general enquiries.
Our studio room was a huge disappointment...the furniture was grubby and sparse, there were scuff marks and grot on the walls and only one bedside table and bedside lamp. Our request for another bedside table and lamp we met with annoyance and we were told that this was the standard for studio apartments. We eventually got the table but no lamp. Generally we felt like second class tourists staying in a one star hotel.
Although the pool area was well presented and clean, the pool is quite small.
The location of the hotel is in a remote area with only a few restaurants within the immediate vicinity/walking distance so we had to get a taxi/bus to go anywhere.

Hi

this was quite a trip i was looking forward to with my family. Both my parents are old & hence we wanted a sceren escape in pattaya away from the noise of Jumthen beach or the noisy walking street.

this hotel is located atop a hill & has a fabulous view of the entire coastline. Its about a kilometre disyance from all the noise & nightlife in pattaya, this was good for me & my sis who loved to stay out late & enjoy the sights & sounds. The hotel was very instrumental & the staff was friendly & helpful in giving us information on vaious places to go to & tour options.

We booked most of our tours through the hotel & it was all quite satisfactory. The food at the hotel was good, we didnt dine at any of the restaurants but ordered room service.

It was also a nice area to stroll around with a park close by. Its a perfect quite gettaway!!

Pattaya is a great holiday destination. The hotel is nice with a great pool. However, the town is so alive that one rarely stays in the hotel and in the pool. The town is small, about 20 square kilometers. There is a great beach with lot of water sports. There is an amusement park with the main attraction being the climb to the top of the Pattaya Tower. The view from the top is just out of the world.
The main way to get around the town is through the local version of the taxi cab called a TUK –TUK. Effective, but slightly expensive, especially since this resort is a little away from the main town. On the second day we realized a far more economical way of getting across the town. We rented a two wheeler for a very nominal 50 bahts, picked up a map of the place and started to drive ourselves around. Since Pattaya is small and very well planned, we had no problem getting around, and after the third day, we were experts on all the routes!
The butterfly garden, bottle museum and mini Siam are must visit places, and not to be missed at any cost.
Overall the week at Pattaya was more relaxing and enjoyable than the day we spent at Bangkok.
The hotel is nice but food is a problem especially for vegetarians. Language is another major problem. Even the staff at the Hotel do not understand basic English which is expected in a tourist town like Pattaya.
There are regular deluxe buses from the Airport to Pattaya and also shared taxis. However people from outside Thailand do not come to know of this cheaper option and end up paying nearly three times the amount for hotel taxi from the airport to Pattaya, if they contact the hotel directly.
On the whole, however, it was a great trip.
