After being married on Koh Tao we wer lucky enough to able to spend our last 4 days of our honeymoon at The Headlands villa (villa2)! On our second night we decided to have meal at The Island View (recommended by manager of Headlands) and boy wer we pleased we chose to dine there! The ambiance was surreal, location perfect, the staff wer so sweet and accomodating and the food was pure perfection (best meal wev had in our 3 weeks in Thailand) - I highly recommend the Seabass and red curry and for desert the fantastic banana fritters! To top it all off, the staff (knowing it was our honeymoon) gave us a lantern to light which made our night complete! We have decided to spend our last night at this resturant and cannot wait to return! Don't think twice about visiting this resturant - also looking forward to my massage there tomorrow :-)

Myself and wife are staying at headlands villas on the west side of samui and drove past the sign for this place so decided to give it a go, we said to the waiter as its our honeymoon can we sit somewhere nice. He said its busy but if we can wait a bit and have a drink he could sort it out. So we did and within 10 minuites we had a table away from everyone else, right on the beach on our own which was amazing, staff have a true smile here nothing is put on, not the cheapest on samui in terms of cost but the food is top class and soo worth the money. After our meal we were confronted by one of the waiters with a chinese lantern and he said we need to make a wish and set it off in the sky, my wife was in tears! Such a magical place and please get banana fritters for desert, i was blown away! Overall its the best meal and service we have had in thailand, and we have both been here 3 times now! Guess what? We are going back to eat there again tomorrow!!

Enjoy everybody!

We are staying at the Sunset Beach Resort, and after an unsuccessful attempt at having a meal in their restaurant, we decided to venture out.

This is a true gem.

The service is genuine and smiley. You can see its a family business and they love working here, it makes such a difference!

It was nice to see that all of the team was immaculately dressed in clean white uniforms in their open kitchen.

The shrimp spring rolls had beautiful fresh shrimp. Green curry was delicious, and the banana fritter dessert was to die for.

Can HIGHLY recommend.

My wife and I were staying at the Conrad and heard terrific things about the Island View Restaurant, so I gave them a call and set up a reservation for two. They were able to arrange round trip transportation for roughly 800 baht.

We ended up going for a massage at 5pm and I think we were the last customers of the evening. The massage was nice and relaxing, but you definitely could find better (and cheaper) if you search around the Chaweng area. I have to admit It was a bit strange to get massaged while others were dining a few feet away.

The food at the restaurant was nothing to really rave about, unfortunately. The happy hour prices on the drinks were decent though. All beers were 70 baht and cocktails were 100. The service we received was awesome as well.

Bottom line: It's a nice place to go if you're looking for a place to unwind during the sunset. However, I wouldn't go here just for the food.

A stunning sunset spot, offering a large menu of Thai and Western foods, extensive cocktail menu and happy hour between 5:00pm-6.30pm. We enjoyed cocktails such as 'Pina Colada' and 'The island View Happiness' which are only THB100 during happy hour or THB180 at regular prices. They offer free peanuts to enjoy with the cocktails, nice CD music playing in the background and although we didn't dine the food looked good that neighboring tables ordered. Staff friendly.
Very clean bathrooms.
A beautiful sunset to be enjoyed in a lovely setting. We look forward to visit another time.
