How a place like this is still open is heartbreaking!! Animals in here are malnourished, poorly and distressed. The smell is overwhelming. Fish tanks are way too small for very large fish who swim round in circles, after circles after circles. We saw fish on the floor. Awful place that should be shut down. Leopards and tigers that were also depressed and walking back and forth!!

If you thought Tiger Kingdom
was bad, take a look at Tiger zoo! Awful.. the cats seemed like they were finding it hard to breathe in the heat, or breathe at all. They looked exhausted. malnourished, lonely and worst of all, a couple of the adults were crying like kittens! Tiger zoo has a Tiger Circus and it was so sad to watch. I simply couldn’t continue. They forced tigers to do tricks offering them small TINY pieces of diced chicken as rewards. The one tiger used for photos had a chain around its neck, constantly kept within a small
cage. It looked so sad. When anyone wanted a photo, the trainer would put on a light and push its head up forcing it to look at the camera. Once this was done,
the tiger would simply return to lying down on its side. There was no room or freedom
to walk around. The tiger truly looked like he’d given up on life and didn’t even eat the diced chicken lying by its mouth :( devastating.

Although it’s supposed to be zoo but not many animals are present and that too not very well maintained.. aquarium was also too small and a normal species only.. since we didnt have anything to do on a very hot day we took our kids there. They have a sea lion and tiger show which was also very ok ok..the transportation to the zoo is a very expensive affair.. taxis charge atleast 500 bahts from chaweng and songtaew also charges 100 bahts per head.. so if you have own bike or car its easier..only few fruits , chips and shakes available inside..no other food items available nearby..

The animal enclosures were as good as many I have seen in the UK although maybe many of the people who made comment are not very happy with the UK versions either.
The sea lion and the bird show were most entertaining and very clever and I truly believe the animals carried out the tricks for rewards rather than through fear or mistreatment.
However, I would agree that the Tigers may possibly have been drugged and did not look to happy about performing for the public.
However, I would strongly advise against going into a cage with a very large tiger and having your photo taken - even if the tiger may be have been raised in the zoo from a cub and could possibly have been drugged. When I visited a family with a small child were having their photo taken in the tigers cage and when the little girl touched it's tail it objected most vorciferously with a growl showing all its teeth. When I visited, the aquariam looked adequately sized for the fish it contained and was very clean. The only exception was that the poor sharks who mdid not have enough room.
Overall I really enjoyed my visit expect perhaps the conditions for the tigers and sharks.
Would definitely recommend the shows for children.
